Club Laptop
PURPOSE

The purpose of this study from academic side is to get an exposure of


practical marketing. By this study I will come to know about the market
dynamics in laptop servicing industry. From corporate side of this study, I
am going to give the company idea about the impact of brand awareness to
the customer.

The concept of Laptop servicing Company is quite new in India. It has not
yet been recognized by most of the laptop users. They still prefer the
servicing centers of branded laptop manufacturers. But the problems of
these service centers is that they are not widely available moreover the
prices charged by them for the services is quite hefty for the laptop users.

In most of the cases it is seen, for servicing laptops, people go to different


retail shops from where they generally buy the laptops, but it must be taken
into consideration that they are not any unique laptop servicing company or
they doesn’t form any integral part of the laptop servicing industries.

‘Club Laptop’ was mainly introduced having a view to help those


customers, who, after warranty period didn’t get much attention from the
laptop companies.

Based on such a background, this study will be conducted to analyze the


BRAND AWARENESS level among the laptop users about ‘Club Laptop’
and to identify the specific problems related to brand awareness of ‘Club
Laptop’ and to make recommendations, if appropriate.
AIM

To familiarize the characteristics of Laptop users on servicing their laptops


and analyze the brand awareness level about ‘Club Laptop’ highlighting the
role of marketing, human resources and operations for sustainable
competitive advantage for Re-feel Cartridge Engineering Pvt. Ltd’s project
Club Laptop.
OBJECTIVE

The objectives of the study are as follows:

 To review the concept of Club Laptop

 To know the Brand Awareness level of Club Laptop.

 To find out the brand preference in laptop servicing category.

 Analyze the feasibility of the project Club Laptop

HYPOTHESIS

H1: “CLUB LAPTOP” is well known in laptop servicing category.

H2: “CLUB LAPTOP” is most preferred among customers.


RESEARCH METHODOLOGY

STAGE I: Types of research

The nature of the research will be Exploratory research and will be


carried out using the secondary data obtained from the organization’s
internal sources including a computer assisted search in order to develop an
understanding of the study.

STAGE II: Sampling technique

The survey will be conducted in different areas of Kolkata and survey will
be conducted on the basis of Stratified Random Sampling based on
occupation, sex, age and income.

Sampling Technique: stratified random sampling

Sampling Units: all type of customers

Sample Size: 500

STAGE III: Data collection method

The research will be conducted using the primary data collection method.
Questionnaire will be designed on the basis of certain predetermined factors
derived from exploratory research. Pretesting of the questionnaire would be
done in order to identify and eliminate potential problems.
Finally the questionnaire will be administered to the target customers
who are carefully chosen in terms of age, income, sex and other determining
characteristics.

STAGE IV: Data analysis

The data will be collected over the period and collected data will be
compiled to give an overall idea about the problem of study. Relevant
statistical tools will be used to draw the conclusion of the study.

Work Plan: Weekly Basis

Total Days required: 8 weeks (approx)

1 – 2 weeks: In the first two weeks I will go through the existing work
which has been done in this field &will have a fair idea on the above
mentioned topic so that I am acquainted with all the aspects which are
needed to cover in order to have a better insight on the topic. I will go
through the published literature in different magazines & journals, refer to
books & browse internet to collect secondary data.

3 – 5 weeks: In this period I intend to move around the market & collect
data from the customers by making them fill- up the questionnaire made for
them with the help of my project guide.

This study would take around three weeks time as my customer sample size
is around 500.

6 – 8 weeks: In this period I will analyze all the data collected, interpret
them & reach a conclusion. Also with the help of my Project guide, I will
start preparing the final report.
