“WHO AM I?”
In everyday living there is one question that keeps on bothering ourselves. Who am I?
So what comes to our mind when we ask ourselves who we really are? Well probably your
answer would be our name, age, gender and all our personal details. It is a question that when
explored and asked, can set us on a meaningful path of self-discovery truth about ourselves that
can bring more clarity of direction into our lives. But who are we as a son or daughter? As a
student? As a youth? And as an individual? We can answer this by reflecting ourselves in the
way that you keep on talking to yourself in front of the mirror.

In my daily living as I reflect my life I was able to find answers to some of those
questions. First is as a student. I am that kind of student who is not quite good in verbal
communication and thinking critically but does well in written, arts, performance and
participating in the class. I do excel in the field of dancing being a student/performer. I am also
good in managing my time for studies and for other areas I am into (dancing and being a “Hair
and Makeup Artist”). Next is as a youth. I am a youth that put my leisure time in going to church
and participating in every activity that consisting all other youth of Sto. Tomas de Villanueva
Parish. We make our parish as our playground where we can enjoy not just for serving God but
also building friendship with my co-youths. And we make other youths to go nearer to God by
making certain activity that will benefit not just us but also every other youth. For I do believe
that we, the Filipino youth in mission, we are beloved, gifted and empowered. Lastly, as an
individual. I considered myself to be creative and imaginative. For as a makeup artist, it is
necessary for us to be creative, imaginative and having the value of being kind and generous.
Being creative brings us in excelling in the field of makeup artistry. But to be a great makeup
artist, it is also necessary for us to be kind and generous clients for they wanted to have the
service that could satisfy them and will make them loyal to you. We must be kind and generous
not just to our clients but also to our assistants and other members of the glam team. It also
necessary for us to acquire this values so that they will also be loyal to join your team and will
lessen the negativity to come to your team. Being creative, talented and imaginative won’t make
you reach the peak. It will need these things for you to become successful. These things would
be determination, hard work, optimism and good attitude. It is the essential needs to achieve
every goals and dreams in life and would make you, you.

The meaning of life is when we already know what and who we are. We know ourselves
more than anyone know us. If people learn how to acquire self-awareness we can help others to
know themselves and get into this state. In order for us to be aware of our true self every
individual must practice on how we are going to reflect our self because I do believe that if we
are already know who we really are then there’s no hard for us to answer the question “Who am
I”.

As we are facing the world every single day we tend to know what values we acquired to
our self. Values are those things that are important, meaningful and valued by an individual, a
group of people, or an organization. Whether we are aware of them or not, every individual has
his or her core set of values, which consist of many different kinds of values. Each individual’s
value system is different from one another because individual’s values are built up through
one’s life experience, environment, and family background. Values are important to us because
they reflect our personal moral standards, shape our behavior, and guide us through long life
journeys.

Among that values I listed above, one of that is I can considered as the most essential
for me in my everyday life. Faithfulness, a faithful person is trustworthy and reliable. Some
people make faithfulness an indicator of their human relationships, but the faithfulness that
matters most is the faithfulness we show towards God. Being faithful means you are being able
to acquire consistency, effort or resilience. As being a good follower and having good
relationship between you and God brings us a positive life and will lead us to the right path in
order for us to achieve our goals, dreams and ambitions in life. Without God we are just nothing
to this world. Even He gives us lots of struggles, trials, and disappointments in life still He still
never left us instead He is there to guide in facing everyday problem we encounter. Jesus still
find ways for us to grow together in grace and share the gifts of the spirit to everyone for we are
living in His embrace. Later, in the near future when we already achieve our goals and dreams
in life we are still going to bow and praise Him to give thanks for His great glory. For I do believe
that when we are being faithful to our great God, nothing is impossible with Him who
strengthens us.
