We form the present simple with the subject and the main verb

I play football She eats donuts They watch DVDs

In the third person (he, she, it) the verb endings change:

Verbs ending in -ch, - ss, -sh, -x, -o : add -es at end of verb

I watch - he watches You finish - she finishes We fix - it fixes

Verbs ending in a consonant and y : delete y and add - ies

I carry - he carries You study - she studies We fly - it flies

Verbs ending in a vowel and y : add s to verb

I play - he plays You say - she says We buy - it buys
