1. Community Time Task Force, planning and preparing social-emotional activities and
lessons in collaboration with our school’s Counseling Department
2. Leader for the Kindness Club: raising money, organizing events, encouraging students to
model behavior through positive actions

I will develop my leadership in Curriculum Development

● GOAL: Implement more rigorous grammar and language practices according to the
Resolution on Language Study - NCTE
● RATIONALE: ESL Advantages Harvard Graduate School of Edu.
● NBPTS Proposition 4: Teachers Think Systematically about Teaching Practice
● TLMD Domain 4. Facilitating Improvements in Instruction and Student Learning
● OBJECTIVE: Collect and analyze student writing and data to find specific areas of
language to target for learners’ specific needs.

I will develop my leadership in Student Assessment

● GOAL: Create standards based and holistic tasks to be graded by clear and concise
rubrics
● RATIONALE: Understanding by Design is a successful tool for student development,
starting with the Essential Questions and Power Standards of the unit. Authentic

● NBPTS Proposition 2: Teachers know the subjects they teach and how to teach those
subjects to students
● TLMD Domain 5. Promoting the Use of Assessments and Data for School and District

● OBJECTIVE: I will develop simple and concise rubrics for Grade 8 students to use when
writing, speaking, and presenting.
