Empathy is the ability to emotionally understand what other people feel, see things from their

point of view, and imagine yourself in their place. As a group  we have come to realize that
empathy can be divided into three categories:
 Cognitive Empathy: This refers to how well an individual can perceive and
understand emotion. Cognitive empathy is more like a skill: Humans learn
to recognize and understand others’ emotional states as a way to process
emotions and behaviour.
 Emotional Empathy: Emotional empathy is a building block of connection between
people. The shared emotional experience prompts us to move closer to someone, to
comfort them, and to offer reassurance and help. However, emotional empathy means
that our bodies are responding to the emotions we are experiencing while in the
presence of the other person and their emotional experience
 Social empathy- It is the ability to understand people by perceiving or experiencing
their life situations and as a result gain insight into structural inequalities and
disparities.
Identifying and understanding issues requires showing genuine empathy for stakeholders,
asking the right questions, and using the right research methods.
During fieldwork, We found that the problems are not always clear and that in order to
comprehensively understand and understand the difficulties, it is necessary to empathize with
the stakeholders to understand the situation. For example, when interviewing employees, they
were very reluctant to disclose the relevant information needed to understand the scenario
and identify the underlying problem.
