Introduction: - Carmeuse Majan L.L.C located in Salalah free Zone, Oman is a leading global
producer of lime and lime related products. It has currently 3 kilns which produces lime daily
around 1200 to 1300 Mts. It serves mainly steel, paper, sugar and chemical industries. The
plant’s output is primarily targeted at Indian market where the demand of lime products is very
high. As per the size products are devided as below: -

Interaction with HR Department: - There was discussion on HR policies for leave, benefits,
bonus, travel and on safety related things.

Interaction with SCM Team: - Below points noted after interaction with SCM team:

1) Major shipping line we use is Maersk, Oman Shipping and MSC line.
2) Major supply we do to west India and south India.
3) Monthly number of containers we do is around 1500.
4) Currently we have around 40 customers all over the world.
5) We do stuffing for 3 to 4 customers on daily basis.
6) Regular shipments we do for Jindal Steel, JK Paper, JSW and APP Indonesia.
7) Below is the size of the products we produce: -

8) We use only 20 Ft containers. In 1 container there are 20 jumbo bags. Each jumbo bags
carries 1.1 Mts in case of Lumps and chips. Each bag of fines carries 1.2 Mts. So in case
of lumps and chips total wt per container is 22 Mts and in case of fines it is 24 Mts.
9) Incoterms we use mainly is CIF, CFR and FOB.
10) Major ports of India where we ship cago is Vizag, Ennore, Tuticorin, Mundra, Pipavava,
cochin etc.
11) learnt how to prepare MIS report, how to make sales order from Tally and how to
submit SI and VGM on shipping line website.

Interaction with Production, process and QC: - Below points noted during the interaction.
1. Currently we have 3 kilns. Blast has to be done of 1000`C in kilns for producing output.
Capacity of each kilns is around 400 Mts on daily basis.
2. 12 to 13 minutes cycling time is there in kilns to produce output after putting lime stone.
3. Product size of lupms, chips and fines can be reduced through screening.
4. We serve mainly steel, paper, sugar and chemical industries.
5. we produce around 70% lumps, 20%chips and 10%fines in a month.
6. Lime stone we purchase from Majan Mining.

Interaction with Finance Department:


Discussed about the payment term we use such as CAD and LC. Also discussed about the
process of sending documents through our bank to customers.
