 Day 1: Drive from Pokhara to Galeshwor (1,170m) via Beni – 3 hours, then
trek from Galeshwar to Bas Kharka (1,526m) -2 ½ to 3 Hours
The Mohare Danda community base eco-trek starts from the religious sacred site
Jyotirlinghishwor Mahadev temple Galeshwor Dham (1,170m), drive 86 km from
touristic city Pokhara via Beni (Beni to Galeshwor 3 kilometer). Don’t forget to visit
Galeshwor Lord Shiva temple; according to the primeval holy text, Srimad Bhagwat
Maha Purana, Galeshwor is considered to be one of the most sacred sites amongst
the world’s 15 pilgrimages. Now, the trek starts after crossing the suspension bridge
on Kaligandaki River heading to the Bans Kharka passing scattered farmhouses,

 and ascending through the jungle. Finally, 2 ½ to 3 hours walking you will approach a

beautiful village. The rest of the time wandering around the village exploring the
culture of the Magar community and their live hood. During October and
November, the orange orchard becomes fruitful. Stay overnight at someone's

Where is the Mohare Danda Trek?
Mohare Danda is located southwest of the Annapurna Conservation Area and starts
from the town called Galeshwor, Myagdi district, Dhaulagiri zone. After 4 to 5 hours of
drive from Pokhara, you can join the trail that leads to the top of the Danda.

Mohare Danda Altitude

Mohare Danda is a beautiful hill, standing at 3,300 meters. Because of Mohare Danda's
altitude, you can see stunning views of the Annapurna Range (8,091 m) and the
Dhaulagiri Range (8,167 m) from its top. Likewise, this place is also famous for the
gorgeous sunrise and sunset views with a backdrop of snow-crusted mountains and lush
green hills.

Mohare Danda Trek Permit

Mohare Danda Trek trail explores the lower part of the Annapurna Conservation
Area. You need to get, ACAP Permit and TIMS (Trekkers Information Management
Systems) card to go on this trek. You can get these permits either from Kathmandu or
Pokhara.

*If you are traveling with a local trekking agency, then they will arrange all the
necessary permits for you. The permit cost will be included in the total package cost.

ACAP Permit fee for foreigners: 3000 NPR (Approx. USD 29)
ACAP Permit fee for SAARC nationals: 1000 NPR (USD 10)
TIMS Permit: 1,000 NPR (Approx. USD 10)
TIMS Permit SAARC nationals: 200 NPR

Mohare Danda Trek Difficulty

Mohare Danda Trek is a moderate trek that combines a pretty good balance of easy
and adventurous walking. You will be trekking below 3,300 meters, which also reduces
the chance of altitude sickness. The trail demands 5 to 6 hours of walk on a daily basis
through forested paths and alongside cliffs.

The trail is not developed, like other trekking trails, but you will get most of the basic
services on the way. You do not need to have previous trekking experience which means
any individual with good health and physical fitness can go on Mohare Danda Trek.

 NOTE
If you do not need a porter for the trip, the trekking cost will be reduced from the
original price. Nepal Mother House gives you some clues to make less cost for the
Solo traveler also. Please contact us in our email for more details with your
