MY REFLECTION ON GENDER AND DEVELOPMENT

This webinar about Gender and Development is very essential to make fairness

in terms of responsibilities among men and women and it will build significant

connections in the society to help it reach its goals especially on the development. It

discussed the common biases and misperceptions in the work place particularly to

women. It helps us to understand the main reasons of having gender inequality and one

factors here in “job segregation” where the females are discriminated and they assigned

only to the lower positions because we think of men are better than women. Through

this GAD we are now aware the significant of having gender equality to the society

where it serves as variable on the development of an employee. It gives us an insight

that we don’t discriminate women in terms of their abilities instead we need to equalize

the opportunities between men and women because it will create an equal development

in terms of their skills.

Gender and Development can help society to have a good community where

every individual can access equality on employment, and women can access any

positions in the work place based on their potentials. Also it encourages us to integrate

this Gender and Development in our work place, through disseminating what we

learned here we can contribute towards the development of this program, and also to

the development of our community. Lastly, this Gender and Development gives us a

knowledge about the importance of connections of men and women in the society.
