Q 13 (a) The length of one rod is (4𝑥 − 5𝑦 + 3𝑧) cm and the length of another is (6𝑥 + 3𝑦 − 𝑧) cm. By
how much is the second rod longer than the first? (2)

(b) Find the value of (3𝑏 2 + 3𝑏 – 8) if (𝑏 + 7) = 3. (2)


Q 14 In a quiz, 40 prizes consisting of 1st and 2nd prize are to be given.1st prize is worth ₹2500 and 2nd prize
is worth ₹1500. If the total prize money is ₹85000, then find the number of 1st and 2nd prizes.
OR
A labourer is engaged for 20 days on the condition that he will receive ₹60 for each day, he works and
he will be fined ₹5 for each day, he is absent. If he receives ₹745 in all, for how many days he remained
absent?
