WRITTEN COMPREHENSION - A NIGHTMARE

HOLIDAY
“Well, my holiday last year was an absolute disaster.

I was going to Miami. I had bought my tickets and made reservations for everything. Everything was ready.
Even my suitcase was ready 2 weeks before. The previous night I had gone to bed early, dreaming about
my holiday.

Unfortunately the next morning I woke up with a funny feeling in my stomach and a runny nose… I couldn’t
leave the bathroom for 1 hour and I was about to be late. I called a taxi, got a taxi on my 5th call and of
course I missed my plane. I said to myself, it’s ok, just be patient. Anyway, I arrived at the airport and the
next flight was 6 hours later...

The journey was ok, I was just trying to relax until I heard the alarm sound on the plane. Everybody
panicked, the stewardesses tried their best to calm people. They were telling us that it was an unimportant
error, there was nothing to be afraid of. People were all still praying when the plane landed in Miami.

After this “wonderful” journey, I took a taxi to my hotel. But that was not the hotel I saw on the internet. It
was not even a hotel, it was a hostel! The rooms were dirty, beds were uncomfortable. So I left with my
luggage. I found another hotel but it was twice what I was going to pay for a room. I didn’t think about it, I
didn’t care about it and I went to my room. I took my clothes off and got into the shower for a long hot
bath. Buuuuttt I slipped, fell down and broke my leg…I had to go back home and lay in bed for 1 month. I
spent a lot of money, a lot of hope but had no fun… What a horrible story… “
