Enrichment Activity #4 Module 8

1.  Discuss why managers need to understand the concept of motivation.

Motivation theories provide an insight into what makes an employee perform
better. It provides managers with a tool to motivate employees and helps them in
understanding how the staff can be managed better.

2.  As a student, what are the common motivation factors that you think

can be use by the teachers to motivate you to be active in synchronous

and asynchronous activities.

Key findings revealed that teachers are motivated to teach after hours by among
others their ability, pertinent PD, resources, positive environment, theories of
motivation and goals set. The study concluded that these factors should be
upheld.

3.  Explain why communication is essential for effective management.

Communication helps managers to perform their jobs and responsibilities.
Communication serves as a foundation for planning. All the essential
information must be communicated to the managers who in-turn must
communicate the plans so as to implement them. In other words, communication
acts as organizational blood.

4.  With the current learning environment that we have,  what do you

think are the communication barriers that affect the relationship among

students and relationship with teachers.

Some common barriers to effective communication in the classroom are listening
barriers, perception barriers, oral barriers and cultural barriers. Learning to
recognize and overcome these barriers is essential in effective classroom
communication.
