Lesson 1: Philosophical Perspective

Learning Activity:

Instruction: Write a reflective journal on the philosophical perspective of the self. Consider the
following as your guide in writing your reflective journal.

1. Think about and write your success stories; then, relate them with the relevant
philosophical perspectives
2. How the different philosophical perspectives will help you live a life of purpose and
meaning?
3. Which philosophical ideas have you found to be convincing in explaining how self is
developed?

Lesson 2: Sociological and Anthropological Perspective


Learning Activity:

Instruction: Make a stand. Create a reflective essay (2-3 paragraphs) to this question:

Do you think the “looking glass” matters? What effects do you see if individuals will
base their sense of self on how they believe others view them? What is the impact of using the
judgments from others to measure your own worth, values and behavior?

Lesson 3: Psychological Perspective

Learning Activity:
Instruction: Make a collage or artwork of WHO YOU ARE. Cut out some words or pictures
from the magazines that represent those beliefs that you have about yourself in order to get
picture of your own self-concept then explain the content of your work in one paragraph. In
this activity, it will show how you perceive your behavior, abilities and your unique
characteristics as an individual, this represent your self-image and real-self. You can use the
traditional way of collage or use the digital platform, it depends on your choice. Be creative as
possible.
