KAYE GALOPE OBSID

ASSIGNMENT #1
My Life’s Purpose
“The mystery of human existence lies not just staying alive, but finding something what to
live for.” FYODOR DOSTOYEVZSKY

I am one of those girls out there who had an early pregnancy, I became a mother at a
young age of 20 but never came I my mind to engage, or taking medicine that can harm my
child even if I will sacrifice much due to my actions. For this reason I did not make it to finish
my undergrad study in the expected time. I did not stop there, but after giving birth to my
first born I continue my study and in Gods’ grace I make it.

Often, I express my life’s purpose in terms of measurable goals, which include having
a good business, to own a comfortable house and to have a successful career. All this goals
can help me know if I a living perfectly. But I was wrong; life is about building good
relationship to everyone and to God. Good relationship in living in this worldly life is very
important to have a perfect life in life after death.

At the age of 29 seeing my two angels sleeping give me a clear purpose in life. Having
a good family and a good work is what I am blessed much. Keeping my family intact and in
good health is in my prayer every night. Striving hard to give a good life to my children is
what I am determined to do. Having them in my life make’s me complete. In order to stay
grounded I always instill in my mind not to step the right of others to have a good life.

As typhoon Odette hits us I realize that my purpose is not just for my family but also
for the people around. There is one community in our municipality that badly hit by the
typhoon. They have lost their house but thanks to God they are all safe. Seeing them with
nothing hurt me for we know how important house to each one of us but suddenly all these
things are gone. That’s why we organize a gift giving activity for them just let them feel that
beyond everything happens there are still people who are willing to share even we are all
affected by the typhoon.

Indeed, no man is an island, we are all connected to each other, help one another
and together we stand every time we fall. Let us be a blessing to everyone.
