Sale Terms and Conditions

1. Payments accepted will be cash, check, or credit card. All lots must be
paid for on sale day. There will be a $35.00 fee for any returned check.
Animals will not be allowed to exit sale barn without a paid sales receipt.
Each animal to be sold to the highest bidder. The auctioneer shall settle any
dispute as to bids. Reserve bids accepted from consignor, if any, will be
announced.

2. Announcements concerning cattle made at the sale ring by owners or

auctioneer will take precedence over statements in the sale catalog.

3. Risk. All persons who attend the sale do so at their own risk and neither
NEGG, The Big East nor the Eastern States Exposition shall assume liability,
legal or otherwise, for any accidents which may occur.

4. Auctioneer, Dave Mullins, acts as agent for the sellers.

5. Health certificates will be available for cattle to be shipped interstate.

6. Registration certificates will be transferred to buyers at sellers’ expense.

Each buyer must give the clerk their proper name and address for making

30th National Belted Galloway Sale transfers. All animals offered are guaranteed to be purebred and reproduc-

7. Delivery. Sale organizers will make every attempt to assist buyers in

Earlier this year, the Belted Galloway
Breed lost a great mentor and a true
pioneer. Mr. Steven Silberberg of Bed-
ford, NH, the owner of Holbrook Hill
Farm, lost a tragic battle to cancer this
winter leaving a legacy that we will
never be able to forget.

Steven’s passion was second to none and

his eagerness to pass that on was the
same. He was one of a kind and anyone
who met him can attest to that. His
dynamic and passionate personality was
infectious, he would strike up a conver-
sation with anyone who was willing to
listen. The Silberberg’s always welcomed
visitors to the farm and he was known
to travel extensively to learn more about
the breed and to study leading genetics.

From 2006-2009, Mr. Silberberg served

on the National Council of the Belted
Galloway Society and he has been
highly involved within the breed for
decades. He has consigned in nearly
every National Belted Galloway Sale
and his cattle can be found in pastures
and pedigrees from coast to coast. He
was extremely passionate about pre-
serving the Belted Galloway Breed. In
the early 2000s, he worked with the
Livestock Breeds Conservancy and coor-
dinated efforts to obtain and preserve
Belted Galloway genetics from a number
of different bloodlines to ensure a genet-
ic pool was accessible for generations to
come.

Mr. Silberberg can be credited with

importing several international sires who
have since become some of the elite sires
in the breed and can be found in the
pedigrees of many elite cattle today.
These imports include Australian Champi-
ons Shiralee Moonshine and Northfield
Donald in 1995 and 1998, as well as
