NEUTRIK XLR PANEL CONNECTORS - A series

Plastic bodied XLR panel connectors from Neutrik, these have the sm allest size and highest packing density (23m m between centres, except HL and HR type
25.5m m ). The A series offers low cost basic plastic shell connectors. Fem ale and m ale connectors have the sam e panel cutout and m ountings, and all connectors
have hard gold plated contacts with wiping-action design (fem ale 5-pin versions also have tin plated pcb term ination pins). Panel fastening of these connectors,
which are not com patible with any other Neutrik design (due to the need to optim ise packing density), is by self-tapping screws, type PT, with thread 2.9 x 1.06
(DIN7990), stock codes 40-927 (pan head) and 40-932 (countersunk).
There are a total of 4 orientations of the PCB pins in this series. Lateral types m ount the PCB on one side, either left or right. These could be used, for exam ple, on
m ixer channel m odules.

V = Vertical PCB, i.e. straight pins.

H = Horizontal PCB, i.e. angled pins.
HL = Lateral PCB, left side.
HR = Lateral PCB, right side.
Y = IDC connection.

Further options exist for the fem ale connectors, denoted by suffix num bers and letters:

[no suffix] No panel or shell ground contact

1 Pin 1 directly connected to panel and shell ground
2 Pin 1 isolated from panel and shell ground, separate ground contact to shell & panel
-0 No latch, fitted instead with retention spring
-SW Fitted with changeover switch which is activated by inserting the cable connector (3 separate PCB pins - N/O ,N/C,com m on)

Further options exist for the m ale connector, denoted by suffix num bers and letters:

[no suffix] Pin 1 isolated from panel and shell ground, separate ground contact to shell & panel
-0 Pin 1 isolated from panel and shell ground, separate ground contact to shell
-SW Fitted with changeover switch which is activated by inserting the cable connector (3 separate PCB pins - N/O ,N/C,com m on)

Coloured escutcheons are available to suit 4-pin A-series connectors and 5-pin changeover switched (-SW) versions. Note that these are NO T suitable for use with
3-pin and other 4-pin non-changeover switched (-SW) version A-series connectors.
O rdering note: It will be appreciated that there are m any possible com binations of features on A series fem ale connectors. All those in production at date of going
to press are detailed below, other versions can be m anufactured to special order, subject to m inim um quantities.
