1. One of the positive impact of tourism in the culture and society is the empowerment
especially it can empower formerly disenfranchised stakeholders, such as the poor,
women, and indigenous people. By watching the video, “What is Empowerment
Tourism”, why do you think tourism has a positive contribution in the economic
development of the country especially to the people it covers?

Tourism has a favorable impact on a country's development since it provides

employment chances for the country's disadvantaged citizens. It helps them
to earn money in order to feed their families and educate their children.

2. Tourism Globalization does offer the opportunity to teach people about how to
respect other cultures. Some argue that globalization has a homogenizing effect on
cultures, as Western values are spread through music, fashion, film, and food,
rendering one culture indistinguishable from the next. Why do you think it has a
negative impact in the tourism culture and in the society and how can it be avoided?

Tourism can cause a country's cultural identity to be lost, and this has been a
big issue for tourism in terms of cultural effect. To avoid this, we must value
our own culture while also respecting the cultures of others.
