Ignatian Values and Principles

Examples of Creation
Let us now look at some examples of God’s creations.
Firstly, we have “people”
We are His highest form of creation since He made us in His own image and likeness.
We experience and feel God's presence through the people around us.
We are also appointed stewards of God’s creations.
With this, we need to care for the earth and act in ways that will restore and protect the
environment.
And ensure that our development activities are ecologically sound.
Next are the animals around us. We see how important animals are to God, even from
the beginning of the Bible.
Adam was given the precious privilege to name the animals. Naming is an act of
relationship that reflects God’s intent for humans to share a close bond with his other
creatures. Yet, the most unique aspect of our relationship with animals is that out of all
God’s creation, only we are bound together in the highest partnership to praise God.
Lastly, the nature. When we spend time with nature, we are able to really feel God’s
creative presence.
According to the Bible, God’s intentions for creation were not only to reveal God’s
character, but also to provide for:
All that He has made, which includes natural systems and non-human life needs
Also to provide for human physical needs, including food, water, shelter, clothing and
energy
And ultimately for human and non-human life both now and into the future.
