Importance of nonverbal communication

“Action speaks louder than words,” is a well-known saying that has made nonverbal
communication more effective than other forms of communication. Nonverbal communication
has a significant impact on our society today; first thing is it adds a little spice to make our
spoken words more meaningful. Second is it serves as a bridge that allows us to communicate
with people who have physical disabilities,

Being born with a physical disability is difficult; it's as if they're living without a purpose,
but nonverbal communication allows those people to transmit and gather information that makes
their lives a little easier. In terms of building relationship, Nonverbal communication has always
played a part in making it more meaningful and sincere. For example, in a relationship, if you
say "I love you" to your partner frequently, the essence or impact of that word may diminish or
they may feel nothing. However, if you say it and follow it up with a simple kiss on the cheek or
a hug, your partner will undoubtedly feel loved or important to you, which corresponds to the
principle of nonverbal communication “nonverbal communication can add to or replace verbal
communication.”

In conclusion, it is true that nonverbal communication has had a significant impact on our
society today; it has enabled many people, particularly the disabled, to communicate with one
another; it adds meaning to what we say; and it adds color to the world in which we live. "Action
speaks louder than words" is no longer just a saying in our society; it has evolved into a principle
that we are all now following.
