questions. All the questions are compulsory

SECTION: A (2 marks each)


1.Tushar Gupta borrowed Rs 10000 from a bank at 10% per annum simple interest. He lent
it to Suraj Rana at the same rate but compounded annually. Find his gain after 2 years.

2. Find the amount of an annuity of Rs 2500 payable at the end of every 3 months for 1
year, if money is worth 8% per annum compounded quarterly.

3. If P(A) = 0.8, P(B) = 0.5 and P(B/A) = 0.4, then find P(A ∩ B)
OR
If two dice are thrown simultaneously, find the probability of getting a doublet.

4. What is the present value of an annuity due of Rs 500 payable half yearly for 6 years if
money is worth 8% p.a compounded semi-annually.

5. How long will it take for a principal to double if money is worth 6% compounded
annually?

SECTION: B (3 marks each)

6. The number lock of a suitcase has 5 wheels, each labelled with ten digits i.e., from 0 to 9
The lock opens with a sequence of five digits with no repeats. What is the probability
of a person getting the right sequence to open the suitcase?
7. A shopkeeper buys an article at the printed price of Rs 40000 from a wholesaler. The
shopkeeper sells the article to a consumer at a profit of 25% on the print price. If all
the sales are intra-state and rate of GST is 18%, find the amount of Tax under GST paid
by the shopkeeper to the State Government.
OR
A shopkeeper sells an article at a list price of Rs 1500. The rate of GST on the
article is 12%. if the sales are intra state and the shopkeeper pays Tax under GST
of Rs 27 to the central government, find the amount inclusive of tax at which the
shopkeeper purchased the article from the wholesaler.

8. Find the present value of a sequence of annual payments of Rs 6000 each, the first being
made at the end of 5th year and the last being made at the end of 12th year , if money is
worth 8%.

9. Ms. Neha Arora lives in Hydrabad, Telangana. She consumed 40 kl of water in June 2021.

Calculate her water bill for the month June 2021. Tariff plan is given below:

SECTION: C (4 marks each)

10. A factory has three machines A, B and C producing 1500, 2500 and 3000 bulbs per day
respectively. Machine A produces 1.5% defective bulbs, machine B produces 2%
defective bulbs and machines C produces 2.5% defective bulbs. At the end of the day, a
bulb is drawn at random and it is found to be defective. What is the probability that this
defective bulb has been produced by machine A?
OR
There are three urns containing 4 white and 5 black balls, 3 white and 6 black balls, and 2 white and 7
black balls, respectively. There is an equal probability of each urn being chosen. A ball is drawn at
random from the chosen urn and it is found to be white. Find the probability that the ball drawn was
from the second urn.
11. In financial year 2020-21, the annual income of Mr Mudit (age 30 years) was
Rs 8,85,000 (exclusive of HRA). He deposited Rs 80000 in NPS, Rs 40000 in LIC and
invested Rs 30000 in NSC. He paid Rs 20000 as tuition fee for her daughter’s
education. If he paid Rs 2000 per month as advance income tax for 11 months.
Calculate income tax paid by him at the end of the financial year.
