Purpose

To empower residents using social care services to express their views, through development
of the consultation and engagement process across the council.

To provide policy advice and support to ensure that the Council includes and responds to the

Nature of Contacts

Working with residents using social care services as well as senior council staff and council
member leads. This role also connects with senior key figures across other organisations such

as police and health chiefs.

Provide specialist advice, guidance and support on issues within area of responsibility; develop

Procedural Context
Work within a policy framework and regulatory guidelines, applying knowledge of systems,
procedures and best practice. Work to broad managerial direction, within a policy framework

policy and legislation.

and/or facilities within area of responsibility.

Use initiative to deal with complex issues and respond appropriately in an unpredictable work
environment. May involve isolated working outside core hours.

Indicative Qualifications
 Educated to NVQ Level 3 / 4 or equivalent in a field relevant to the post
 Able to demonstrate a good working knowledge of standard "desk top" systems
 Knowledge and understanding of the partnerships
 Demonstrable knowledge and understanding of participation and engagement,
including residents using social care services.
