Target audience

Target audience:
A target audience is the specific audience the media product is aimed at. The
importance of this is so it allows the producers to include content that appeals to the
target audience, meaning that it'll get bought or engaged with as well as letting the
audience know and recognise that it's for them. Which shows that they are aiming to
ensure that the product is a success.

Demographics:
Demographics is a way of grouping the audience into categories. Such as using
information about the audience, such as:
● Age
● Gender
● Lifestyle
● Spending Power

Spending power is categorized by ABC1 Spending profiles.

ABC1 Spending Profiles:


ABC1 spending profiles are the most commonly used classification. Many
companies use their audience for these grades to measure the influence of the
audience.
Target audience of Digital Media Magazine

Audience:
In the audience information available for the magazine from Future Plc, it does give
some information, but it is quite limited. There are 24,834 circulation and 12k of
viewers are dedicated active subscribers. There are also 82% of viewers who own
DSLR cameras.

Age:
There is no information on the specific age although,we can assume that the age
range is wide, meaning all years of age because there is no limit to the age of people
who love media and photography.

Gender:
It also doesn't give any information on specific genders in which I would say that the
gender of people doesn't matter since both females and male like digital cameras
and photography.

Lifestyle:
It does not give any information about the lifestyle although from my own knowledge
the hobbies and interests of the audience would be taking photographs and learning
new techniques and basic techniques of how to take a photo, as well as how to use
the camera.

Spending power:
It doesn't give any information about spending power which is also known as ABC1
spending profiles. Although for spending power we can assume that there will be a
range, but that a high % would be in the ABC1 category because of the cost involved
in this kind of hobby and because cameras are more expensive.
