Describe a memorable gift with you

To tell the truth, the best gift or present that I have ever received from my best friend is an
English dictionary. She bought it for me on my 18th birthday. At that time, I was a student at
high school and I was also preparing for the university entrance exam. Although I didn’t
cele/i/brate my birthday, she still remembered that day and gave it to me surprisingly.
Honestly, that was the only gift to have been purchase/e/d for me. And I was touched, so that
tears came to my eyes. I once told my friend about my bad English vocabu/i/lary. Hence I began
to feel discouraged while the exam was coming. That dictionary is really helpful for the rest of
exam review time. I never told her that I wanted to buy one but I guess my friend knew how
much I wanted to own it when she heard my complain. This is the most meaningful gift I have
ever received in my life. This was not merely a birthday present or a book, it was more than
that like a wonderful thing came to my life with care and love. In my view, she had to save
money because she didn’t have much money at that time. She definitely understands me very
well and I wish our friendship will be enduring for the rest of my life. I thanked my friend for
this amazing gift and she was delighted to see how happy I was.

A coffee shop - STARBUCKS

Starbucks – when you heard the name, maybe I don’t need to introduce anymore. It is one of
famous places in London in particular and in the world in general. It is an American company
that is the largest coffee house chain in the world. Its headquarters are in Seattle, Washington.
This chain has given rise to the current coffee culture in the country, and changed how
Americans think about coffee.
The foundation
Starbucks was founded by Jerry Baldwin, Gordon Bowker and Zev Siegl, opening its first store in
1971 near the historic Pike Palace Market in Seattle. The three Starbucks founders had two
things in common; they were all coming from academia, and they all loved coffee and tea. They
invested and borrowed some money to open the first store in Seattle and named it “Starbucks”
after the first mate in Herman Melville’s classic novel Moby Dick.
Description
Starbucks has more than 6000 locations in over 30 countries. Starbucks brand currently serves
more than 40 million customers a week and sells 4 billion cups of coffee a year. Starbucks has
no franchise policy and no intention of doing this in the future. It opens at 4.30 (half past four)
in the morning and gets closed at 22.30 (half past ten) in the evening.
Logo
Starbucks logo is a unique design that unfailingly catches the interest and attention of
onlookers. This memorable symbol is one of most recognized business logo designs that’s
adored by coffee lovers from across the globe. In fact, it wouldn’t be an exaggeration to say
that the unique concept of Starbucks logo design has contributed immensely in the company’s
success worldwide.
Atmosphere
Imagine this: You walk into a place and the atmosphere is light and airy. The subtle scent of
coffee beans fills the air and everyone that approaches you is friendly and welcoming. You’re
comfortable and feel like you belong; because you do. As in most cities, it’s a place where
people meet, discuss ideas, and conduct business. After taking a few sips of that Caramel
Macchiato, you immediately get that feeling of energy and optimism. Perhaps it’s partly due to
the caffeine and sugar rush, or maybe it’s that the presence of a Starbucks typically indicates a
city on the rise.

Your favorite drink

In addition to the excellent coffees and espresso drinks, people now enjoy Tazo tea and
Frappuccino (sinh tố) ice blended beverages (đồ uống). The choice also includes organic and fair
trade coffee made from a selection of beans sourced across the globe. There is also a fine
selection of teas from fruit flavors to Earl Grey (màu xám bá tướt) and a choice of hot
chocolates. Cold drinks include mineral water and fresh fruit juices. The Starbucks experience
also includes fresh and tasty snacks such as sandwiches, pastries and cakes. Starbucks is the
world’s leading specialist coffee retailer, priding itself on great coffee and friendly service in
familiar surroundings.

PLANS FOR FUTURE

Everybody has a plan for future. People make plans in order to do things efficiently and make
progress. So today I would like to talk about my plans for the future. Honestly, it’s quite difficult
for me to imagine who I will be in 10 or more years. First of all, I am glad that I have found a
major that is suitable for me and is a lot of fun to me. I heard that the future depends on what
we do in the present. That is the reason why my first priority is to learn a lot of skills and
experiences as much as possible. It may lay the foundation for me to be a successful business
woman. I am planning on studying a second language – Japanese. Learning Japanese will boost
your professional value. When you learn it, you will have less competition in opportunities
available in different fields. In other words, Japanese may prepare you for a better future like
English. Another thing that need to be done is to apply for a guitar course. It has been known to
increase brain power, confidence and self esteem. I used to try to learn it but I gave it up. Now I
am really looking forward to trying it again. I also want to see the world while I’m young. The
biggest reason to go abroad is the opportunity to enjoy different cultures, traditions or
landscapes. A strange country offers you many new activities and interests that you may never
have discovered if you had stayed at home. Furthermore, you learn to deal with chaos (thời đại
hỗn loạn) through unexpected situations. But for now, I am really happy with what I am having.
I hope I will be happy for the rest of my life. I’m counting down the days until I visit to Dalat.
In the recent years, Dalat is one of the most popular of the Vietnam tourist attractions. You will
never forget it because of its romance and breathtaking sight. I heard that the couples who
went to dalat when they came back, they would break up. I want to know whether it is the
truth or not. The weather is so cool. You can wear a variety of warm clothes. The coffee shops
in dalat are designed in many styles. You can take a lot of photos. When you go there, it will
make you wish to live slowly, live for yourself more.

Describe your favorite coffee shop and drinks

I am going to describe a famous coffee brand – Cong café. Cong was founded by Nguyễn Hà
Linh, who is one of many successful female entrepreneurs in Vietnam. The first branch (chi
nhánh) opened in 2007 on Hanoi’s Triệu Việt Vương street. Since then, Cong café has
developed with branches opening all over Hanoi and in other cities in the North. It is surely a hit
in Vietnam these days. Cong is one of the best designed coffee shops with their shade of army
green. Because of this style, it attracts many foreign tourists. You can take a lot of photos
because every corner is decorated me’ticulously. It really make you feel like at home. I highly
recommend a visit to Cong if you still don’t come. The coffee quality is another plus. Their
signature drink is ice blended coconut coffee. I always ‘order it when I come here. It is great to
have_ a cup of coffee at the end of the day in such a cozy ‘atmosphere and listen to some
Vietnamese songs.

Describe a product that you would love to have in the future

I have made a list of things I would like to buy in the future. I always dream of buying all by
myself. It will make me more independent. The most difficult thing in this list in my opinion is
an apartment. Since I have to move to HCM city to study at my ideal university, I am not scared
to be alone. Having a flat has a wonderful meaning for me. This takes me to another step in my
life. Of course at this time I cant afford to buy it. But I have long-term goal to pursue. It will be a
small house. There will be 4 rooms: living room, kitchen, bedroom and bathroom. To the right
of the kitchen, there will be a small garden. I want to grow vegetables and many types of
flowers. The flat may look old but I like it. I can hear classical songs every afternoon and drink a
cup of tea. In each room, there is an own unique design. I actually love sophisticated
decoration. Most importantly, I hope to show my parents that I am an independent child and I
can take good care of myself and even my family. I hope to cross this item off my list by the
time I turn 30. I know it sounds impossible but it’d be cool if I could do it.

A lot of places in the world rely on tourism as a main source of income. So many people
believe that tourism brings to them more advantages than disadvantages. Do you agree or
disagree with this idea?
Nowadays, tourism takes an important role in improving economic climate for many
countries. There is an increase in the amount of people who believe that tourism brings to
them more advantages than disadvantages. Well, I am not sure about that; especially during
Covid-19 pandemic, tourism really seems to bring little benefit to the citizen in that country.
And this essay will address the reasons for my views as follow.
To begin with, tourism puts enormous stress on local land use, and can lead to increased
pollution, soil erosion, natural habitat loss, and more pressure on endangered species. These
effects can gradually destroy the environmental resources on which tourism itself depends.
They could also affect the locals’ living conditions. In fact, Da Lat, which has been referred to as
“City of Flowers”, attracts nearly a million visitors a year. Currently, the amount of daily waste
discarded in Da Lat by the tourists is increasing speed.
During all this time, the tourism industry has been heavily affected by the spread of corona
virus. Many countries and regions have imposed global restrictions that apply to all foreign
countries and territories, or prevent their own habitants from travelling overseas. This
restrictions reduced a large quantity of tourists. To the places which rely on tourism as a main
source of income, it is terrible.
In conclusion, while I tend to agree with those who claim that tourism brings to them a lot of
advantages, I disagree that it brings more benefits than drawbacks especially in the Covid-19
pandemic.

INTRODUCE YOURSELF
Good evening teacher. Today I am here to introduce myself. I am nineteen years_old. I was
born in BMT city which is the pro’vincial capital of Dak Lak Province. It is famous for making

living in District 7. I am a senior at Economic University. My major is Marketing. I have_a
passion for figure, business and creation. That is why I chose this major and want to be a
businessman in the future. But when I was young, I watched a lot of movies. I always dream of
being a film director and making a global and significant movie. On the other hand, I also work
as an employee at Family Mart store to earn money for accomomdation and making a living.
Now, I decided to quit my job since I don’t have enough time to study for my final test. In my
free time, I often listen to music. My favorite kinds_of music are rap and pop. I love Taylor
Swift. She is really beautiful and sings well.
