PART 1

COUNTRYSIDE
1. Have you ever lived in the countryside?
Live in the suburbs: ngoại ô
Yes, I did. I was born and bred (raised) in the countryside. It is a small village in the
north of Vietnam around 50 kilometers from the capital Ha Noi. But today, I’m
living and studying in HCMc.
2. Do you enjoy living in the countryside?
Actually, I prefer living in rural sites because I'm the kind of person who craving
for a sense of tranquility and many individuals there are so kind and friendly.
Maybe, I probably can't access more to progressive education and convenient
transportation than living in metropolitan areas. But I think it worth it.
craving for: thích thú
a sense of tranquility: cảm giác yên tĩnh
Not really. I prefer living in the city because it's hard to find a well-paid job in the
countryside. But there's one thing I don't like in big cities is air pollution.
3. What do you usually do in the countryside?
Actually, when I went to my hometown, i didn’t do anything special. It’s a small
village and there are no entertaining centers. So I spent all days watching TV with
mom or playing games on my phone.
Spend something doing something
4. Will you live in the countryside in the future?
I think that I won’t live in the countryside. In the future, I will find a job in Ho Chi
Minh city to make a living, to build up a happy family and live the rest of my life
with my partner in the city.

HOMETOWN
1. What’s (the name of) your hometown (again)?

My hometown is the smallest province in the country. But It has a reputation for

But it is a sort of Traditional music of Vietnam.
Reputation for something ~ famous for something = renowned for something
Reputation as something ~ famous as something = renowned as something
