Memory Organization and Addressing - ControlLogix and S7

Description: The seminar is a continuation of the “Introduction to PLC and Ladder


Logic” seminar held on Sept. 23, 2021. The internal structure of the processor – its
program, data, and input/output - is described for the Allen-Bradley ControlLogix and
Siemens S7 PLCs. As for the earlier seminar, I will work through examples and expect
audience participation.

Future planned seminars:


Mar 17 - Timers 1 – Timer blocks for ControlLogix and S7, including a short
example.
Apr 21 - Timers 2 – More timer examples for ControlLogix and S7.
May 19 - Counters – Counter blocks for ControlLogix and S7, including two
examples.

Presenter: Dr. Kelvin T. Erickson is a Curators’ Distinguished Teaching Professor of


Electrical & Computer Engineering at the Missouri University of Science and
Technology. He has over 43 years of industrial, teaching, and research experience in
the areas of factory automation, process control, and system identification.

This event is organized by the ISA Education & Research Division (ERD).

The presentation is FREE and open to all Interested students and young professionals
The presentation will be recorded and posted on the ISA Connect web site a few days after the
conclusion of the seminar.
