To whom it may concern,

It is my pleasure to write this letter of recommendation for Victoria Musser. In my years on the
board and as board chair for Arts for Lawrence, I’ve worked closely with Victoria in a number of
capacities, and I have great respect for her as a person and professional.

Victoria is smart, creative, and warm. She has a quick and fluid grasp of technological tools, is
highly organized and efficient, and enjoys cultivating relationships with a diverse range of
individuals.

As the Director of Donor Relations at Arts for Lawrence, Victoria runs a one-person fundraising
office. I sought her out specifically when I joined the board, because I also have experience
managing a fundraising team and thought I might be able to assist. Even though Victoria had
just graduated at the time, I was impressed with her versatility and knowledge of all the
different aspects of fundraising, membership, and events that are critical to a nonprofit arts
organization.

As the first full-time fundraising staff member at AFL, Victoria has not only built many donor
relations tools from scratch, but she has also been able to streamline a number of AFL’s
fundraising operations to be more effective and impactful. She developed a donor database
and integrated it with AFL’s website, newsletters, and other donor communications. She has
trained board members on fundraising and has seamlessly managed fundraising events. She has
organized an annual calendar of appeals and other communications that help to cultivate
donors. And she has developed metrics to track fundraising progress.

Finally, I respect Victoria’s passion for the arts and her dedication to her work. She speaks
eloquently and inspirationally about the importance of the arts sector and its ability to
transform lives.

Please feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions!

Sincerely,

Emily Leiserson
