The Ukrainian American Bar Association (UABA) applauds the United States
Congress and Pres. Obama's Administration for the passage of the Ukraine
Freedom Support Act of 2014. With the enactment of this law, the United
States has sent a clear message to the world that it respects and upholds
the principles of international rule of law not only by words but also by
deeds and that Russia's aggression against Ukraine carries serious
consequences.

At its most recent annual convention in Washington DC, the UABA was honored
to have as a presenter Amb. Volodymyr Vassylenko, a leading Ukrainian
diplomat, jurist, scholar and former judge of the Hague International
Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia. His presentation examines the
origin of Russia's unlawful war of aggression against Ukraine and the
underlying motivation for its actions. It is an indispensable tool in
formulating an effective response to Russia's anticipated future aggressive
actions against Ukraine. Towards this end, we attach the executive summary
of Amb. Vassylenko's presentation as well as its full text for your
consideration.
