Pronouns that show ownership are called possessive
pronouns. These are used when talking about who owns
something.

Some of the commonly used possessive pronouns include


mine, yours, his, hers, ours, and theirs.

Here is an example of how to use pronouns that show


ownership in a sentence:
This is my book.

This book is mine.


(The word mine shows ownership and it means that the book
belongs to me.)

You may use this pattern when using possessive pronouns in


writing sentences.

This/These/That/Those + name of object + is/are +


possessive pronouns

Examples: These plants are hers.

That pen is yours.

Those crayons are theirs.
