Knit in ​Cascade 220 Superwash

MATERIALS
160 Yards of Worsted Weight Yarn
16" circular US 6 & 8 Needle
US 8 DPNs
Stitch Marker
Darning needle

GAUGE
10 stitches and 12 rows = 2" on US 8 ​ i​n stockinette stitch
ABBREVIATIONS
k​ = Knit stitch.
k2tog​ = Knit two stitches together.
p = ​Purl stitch.
pm​ = place marker.

SIZE
11" ​high,​ 20-23” ​around (very stretchy).

INSTRUCTIONS
With ​US 6​ CO​ 88 ​stitches
Being careful not to twist, PM and join in the round as follows:
Row 1: ​*k2, p2; repeat from * to end of round.
Repeat ​Row 1 ​until​ 6”​ from cast on edge
Switch to ​US 8​ 16” Circular Needle
Row 2​: Knit
Repeat ​Row 2​ until the hat measures ​10”​ from cast on edge.

Begin shaping ​(changing to DPNs when necessary)


Row 3: ​*Knit 6, k2tog; repeat from * to end of round
Row 4: ​Knit to end of round
Row 5: ​*Knit 5, k2tog; repeat from * to end of round
Row 6: ​Knit to end of round
Row 7: ​*Knit 4, k2tog; repeat from * to end of round
Row 8: ​Knit to end of round
Row 9: ​*Knit 3, k2tog; repeat from * to end of round
Row 10: ​Knit to end of round
Row 11: ​*Knit 2, k2tog; repeat from * to end of round
Row 12: ​Knit to end of round
Row 13: ​*Knit 1, k2tog; repeat from * to end of round
Row 14: ​Knit to end of round
Row 15: ​*K2tog; repeat from * to end of round

Cut yarn and draw through remaining stitches. Weave in ends.
