“Healthcare should be between the doctor and the patient.

And if the doctor says

something needs to be done, the government should guarantee it gets paid for.” (Moore, 2001-
2021) Healthcare and money always go together whether it is just a small bruise or saving one’s
dying life. It is undeniable that a person always has to get out something out of his/her pocket
to address health problems. To stop the compromise between the two factors, other countries
started free healthcare programs to eradicate surrounding issues and to just focus on the
important matter—intervention. However, why are others so opposed to it?

Hearing the word “free” rings a bell to whoever hears it. Most of the people will see it as
something great but there are always a few who will be skeptical about it. Free health care
means accessibility for all; it will affect the quality of service since the hospital has to cater the
needs of the large quantity of patients. Another benefit of free healthcare is how a person can
enjoy the basic human right: access to healthcare, feeling of security, and proper medical
treatment. Although, others may be too much dependent that they will just solely rely on the
free healthcare or even abuse it. Thus, this will lead to exhausted healthcare workers if not
managed well which might also affect the doctor-patient relationship in terms of examinations.

Weighing the advantages and disadvantages of free healthcare is like weighing a grain of
sand and a huge rock. With proper system and supervision, free healthcare will be of great
benefit to the whole population. Free healthcare is safe as long as it is managed by the right
hands.
