Free health care provides medical services to all citizens at little to no cost, paid for by government through taxes. Pros include low costs for patients, improved access to care, and lives saved as critical patients can receive treatment. However, cons include the system prioritizing chronic conditions linked to lifestyle, patients potentially acting less responsibly with their health, and overworking medical personnel.

Free health care is a health care system in which all civilian in
a particular nation or country receives health care at no cost or minimal expenses.
PROS of free health care?
Based on my own perception, free health care system is a system that offers free quality medical services to each citizen that you can also call this universal health care. The government gives it to everybody irrespective of their ability to cover it. The absolute expense of providing quality healthcare makes universal healthcare a sizable cost for authorities. However, it may sound good for each civilian but there can be some downside that needs to identify regarding the implementation of free health care. It is most successful when a person seeks care from a qualified physician and provides clear details about their symptoms. Here are the benefits of how free health care can be very helpful of treating patients despite the current situation that we are into that may include:
Low cost of free health care: it means every treatment provided
to a patient is free and it also clarifies even people who couldn’t afford to pay the fees can get equal quality of services.
Improved access to child care: Free health care makes it easier
for people with disabilities to access care. It can also improve access for other populations, including older adults, people who are geographically isolated, and those who are incarcerated.
Free health care saves live: As a result of the implementation of
free health care, numerous diseases are prevented. On top of that, numerous patients who may not be able to afford health services even who are in critical condition can easily go to the hospital for treatment.
Eradicate unnecessary competitions: as we head into the future,
health care services are in never-ending competition with each other. It’s already known as a fact that the health sector has changed into a business. Subsequently, their goal changed too and are seen rather concerned about the numerous of patients than the quality of their service. Moreover, they aim at attracting rich people who willingly pay higher bills, ignoring the condition of those who can’t afford it.
Cons of free health care?
As I mentioned the part of free health care’s downside, it meant negatively aspect of complications. Free health care seems good to all but it may bring destruction to the affected matters such as the federal government and health care services that needs to acknowledge the downside of free health care system. Here are the disadvantages of free health care that needs to dig further in the situation:
Prioritize critical/chronic conditions: Almost 90% of the budget
is spent on chronic illness which is related to lifestyle choices. The whole system is funded through the taxes paid by the citizens. So, this basically means you’re paying for others’ treatment too which sounds a bit unfair.
Patients will act irresponsible: Rather than focusing on getting
fit, eating healthy, and taking proper precautions, people start having an unhealthy lifestyle. They will simply ignore their health because they have easy access to free healthcare services if any issues arise.
Injustice for healthcare personnel: As a result of the
implementation of free health care, number of patients will spike instantly once the health care services get free. So, the doctors and nurses have to work on daily basis of day and night on a busy schedule. This means their goal changes into treating as many patients as possible rather than properly diagnosing them.
