GAMEPLAY CHANGES

- The starters are now Smoochum, Elekid & Magby.

- All Wild Pokemon in Grass, on cave floors etc and first time trainer battles have
been changed. The majority of VS Seeker battles have been left untouched.
- The majority of fishing and Surfing locations have had their Wild encounters edited
to fit with the change in rods and allow a wider variety.
- The Old Rod is now located in Viridian, north of the coffee guy.
- The Good Rod is now located in Vermilion, where the Old Rod used to be.
- The Super Rod has not changed locations.
- Small patches of grass have been added to Viridian, Vermilion, Celadon and
Cerulean with new Pokemon inside.
- The Old Rod no longer fishes just Magikarp; the majority of areas early on in the
game relinquish valuable water Pokemon when fished into with the Old Rod.
- Likewise, most midgameish water will have good Pokemon when fishing with the
Good Rod.
- The National Dex is obtained as soon as you get the PokeDex.
- Some new areas have been added - these are called Chronum Tower, Ancient
Labyrinth and Yggdrasill Forest. These are not accessible until the end of the game.
- Altering Cave has been changed into a teleporting hub, and now allows you to warp
to the aformented Chronum Tower and Ancient Labyrinth, as well as Navel Rock and
Birth Island. However it is only open after you give the Sapphire to Celio.
- The starters from the Kanto, Johto and Hoenn regions are given by people around
Kanto. Be sure to talk to new people in PokeCenters, town squares etc as they may
be the ones who give you a starter! Expect to see the Hoenn starters first, then the
Johto starters and the Kanto starters last.
- All Gym Leaders, Giovanni battles and Elite Four battles now have six Pokemon to
deal with.
- Certain music has been changed ie the Gym Leader/Elite Four music has been
swapped with the Elite Four music from Ruby, Sapphire & Emerald.
- The Safari Zone has been remodelled to incorporate a wider variety of Pokemon;
while the structure is still the same the areas themselves are notably different.
- Levels throughout the game are overall higher; this is to compensate for the rather
larger chunks of EXP you might receive.
- Some new items have been added throughout the game, including some stones, a
Lucky Egg, etcetera.
- Some legends have had their levels changed.
- There are some new trainers but not very many at all.
- Trades in the game have been edited.
- Some marts have had their stock edited, and the prices of items such as Ultra Balls
have been lowered.
- Some extra dialogue has been added for the second round of the Elite Four.
- The E4 is now challengeable anytime, even when Lorelei is at Four Island. While
this is a paradox, it had to be done to allow the E4 to be challenged at all.
- Eevee is now Level 30 when obtained.
- The fossils are now Level 40 when obtained.
- Lapras in Silph. Co has been replaced with Castform.
- Someone else will give you Lapras, but it's up to you to find them!
- Featured throughout the game are some cameo battles of my closest internet
friends (though there are one or two missing.) You won't encounter them until the
second round E4 is open.

Known Glitches
- Some trainers will act as though you have already beaten them. I've fixed literally a
few of these but fixing too many of them actually causes worse problems.
- The person guarding the Cerulean Cave will now disappear when you go onto
Route 4 but reappear when you get back into Cerulean City. This was done because
of a glitch that would otherwise prevent you from getting into Cerulean Cave.
- Collecting completely newly placed items ie the Water Stone in Route 6; these will
still disappear even if your item bag is full. The exception is the Lucky Egg since that
was edited from an item on that route originally.

Fire Red Omega Guide

0 Badges
So you decided to play Pokémon Fire Red Omega, and on top of that doing an oak
challenge, well good luck!

Like Fire Red or Leaf Green you start in pallet town with no badges and hopefully a lot of
patience.
Pick a starter, the other mons will be unobtainable
Magby/Elekid/Smoochum lvl. 24 → Magmar/Electabuzz/Jynx

Now I’ll assume that you have some knowledge of Fire Red and/or Leaf Green before
picking this up. It’s time to do the parcel quest to get your first poké-balls, DON’T CATCH
ANYTHING, sounds weird in a prof. Oak challenge, but trust me. You need money badly for
the poké-balls, which means a Pickup-mon. Let’s also grab the old rod from the fishing guy
above the old guy in viridian.

That means time for all the Catching, try to catch everything in the highest level possible.
Start with route 2 and Zigzagoon for pick-up, the rest are up to you in order. I only write
every pokémon 1 time, the place where they can be found in the highest lvl.

Route 2
Treecko lvl. 16 → Grovyle lvl. 36 → Sceptile (Handout just before forest gate)
Zigzagoon lvl. 20 → Linoone
Poochyena lvl. 18 → Mightyena
Pidgey lvl. 18 → Pidgeotto lvl. 36 → Pidgeot
Sentret lvl. 15 → Furret
Hoothoot lvl. 20 → Noctowl
Hoppip lvl. 18 → Skiploom lvl. 27 → Jumpluff
Shroomish lvl. 23 → Breloom

Route 1
Nidoran (F) lvl. 16 → Nidorina
Nidoran (M) lvl. 16 → Nidorino
Ponyta lvl. 40 → Rapidash
Doduo lvl. 31 → Dodrio

Route 22
Rattata lvl. 20 → Raticate
Mankey lvl. 28 → Primeape
fishing
Poliwag lvl. 25 → Poliwhirl lvl. 35 → Politoed
Poliwhirl <Water stone> → Poliwrath
Clamperl lvl. 18 → Gorebyss/Huntail (This one is random so get grinding those clams!)

Pallet town fishing

Staryu <Water stone> → Starmie
Shellder <Water stone> → Cloyster

Viridian city
Mareep lvl. 15 → Flaffy lvl. 30 → Ampharos
Houndour lvl. 24 → Houndoom
Ralts lvl. 20 → Kirlia lvl. 30 → Gardevoir (Catch a second Ralts now to save time later)
fishing
Barboach lvl. 30 → Whiscash
Magikarp lvl. 20 → Gyarados

Viridian forest
Caterpie lvl. 7 → Metapod lvl. 10 → Butterfree
Weedle lvl. 7 → Kakuna lvl. 10 → Beedrill
Pikachu <Thunder stone> → Raichu
Oddish lvl. 21 → Gloom <Leaf stone> → Vileplume (also another gloom for later)
Venonat lvl. 31 → Venomoth
Bellsprout lvl. 21 → Weepinbell <Leaf stone> → Victreebell
Silcoon Beautifly
Wurmple lvl. 7 → lvl. 10 → (This one is random aswell ;) Get
Cascoon Dustox
grinding)
Surskit lvl. 22 → Masquerain
Gate to route 2 towards Pewter City
Torchic lvl. 16 → Combusken lvl. 36 → Blaziken (Handout)

Pewter city
Togepi <Happiness> → Togetic (egg outside poké-center)
Sunkern
Mudkip lvl. 16 → Marshtomp lvl. 36 → Swampert (Handout poké-center)
Taillow lvl. 22 → Swellow (Catch a second for a trade later)
Slakoth lvl. 18 → Vigoroth lvl. 36 → Slaking
Nosepass
Skitty
Swablu lvl. 35 → Altaria

The easiest way to get happiness for togepi is to just have it in your party while you grind the
other mons.
Now you should have caught every single pokémon available and possibly already evolved
some. The best spot to grind lvl’s is in Pewter city. A great tip is to never replace a damaging
move, as you will run out of PP fairly often, and minimizing the trips needed to the pokémon
center is recommended.
For pokémon with bad movesets or not very effective moves against the Pewter city
pokémons, use hidden TM 10 - Hidden power and hope for good typing. Alternatively if you
have a mon with 1 good move use some of the PP Up’s you get from your Pickup’s. This
also to minimize the trips needed to the pokémon center.

Rare candy guide:

I would suggest using rare candies on Vigoroth and Swablu when they hit lvl. 31, Ponyta, the
Hoenn starters, Poliwhirl and Pidgey when they hit lvl. 33/34. Save spare rare candies as
next section will have something you want to spend it on.

To get thunder/water/leaf-stones you need to catch pikachus/shellders/oddish

accordingly
Other than the stones you need for this section you need 1 additional water stone and
1 additional leaf stone.

You also have a choice now, the sun stone found in Pewter city.
Gloom → Bellossom OR Sunkern → Sunflora

You should have 98 pokémon, a lot of time spent and a team ready to fight mighty brock.

1 badge
Pewter city and the rest is in the past, now route 3, mt. moon and more is ahead.
Stock up on pokéballs and head on to route 3 avoiding as many trainers as possible to save
exp for the new catches.

The first mon you can catch that needs exp, is in Mt. Moon, in my opinion you should start
with Zubat, since being held back by happiness later on is annoying.

Route 3
Vulpix <Fire stone> → Ninetales
Jigglypuff <Moon stone> → Wigglytuff
Growlithe <Fire stone> → Arcanine
Spinda

Mt. Moon
Clefairy <Moon stone> → Clefable
Zubat lvl. 22 → Golbat <Happiness> → Crobat
Paras lvl. 24 → Parasect
Geodude lvl. 25 → Graveler lvl. 38 → Golem
Slugma lvl. 38 → Magcargo
Larvitar lvl. 30 → Pupitar lvl. 55 → Tyranitar
Aron lvl. 32 → Lairon lvl. 42 → Aggron
Numel lvl. 33 → Camerupt
Torkoal
Lunatone
Solrock
Chimecho
Bagon lvl 30 → Shelgon lvl. 50 → Salamence

Torkoal is really low percentage on B1, but use it as time to grind your zubat or whatever
other mon you feel like, bagon and larvitar gives pretty neat exp.
Whatever fossil you pick does not matter for this challenge.

Very important! MAKE SURE TO CATCH ALL THE ABOVE BEFORE JUMPING
DOWN THE LEDGES ON ROUTE 4! Also important catch enough
Clefairies/Lunatones to get 5 moon stones. And Solrock’s until you get a sun
stone for Gloom/Sunkern. And vulpix’/growlithes until you have 1 fire stone!
(you will get the other fire stone on a later route.

Route 4
Sandshrew lvl. 22 → Sandslash
Magnemite lvl. 30 → Magneton (Catch 1 more for trade)
Yanma
Snubbull lvl. 23 → Granbull
Electrike lvl. 26 → Manectric

Cerulean city
Totodile lvl. 18 → Croconaw lvl. 30 → Feraligatr (handout)
Pichu
Nincada lvl. 20 with space in party and extra Pokéball → Shedinja + Ninjask
Roselia
Lickitung (Trade for ralts)
Fishing
Psyduck lvl. 33 → Golduck

Wailmer lvl. 40 → Wailord
Luvdisc

Route 24
Abra lvl. 16 → Kadabra lvl. 36 → Alakazam
Cyndaquil lvl. 14 → Quilava lvl. 36 → Typhlosion (Handout)
Fishing
Chinchou lvl. 27 → Lanturn

Route 25

Nuzleaf <Leaf stone> → Shiftry (catch both to save time)
Carvanha lvl. 30 → Sharpedo
Feebas lvl. 20 → Milotic

Vermillion city
Farfetch’d (Trade for Taillow)
Krabby lvl. 28 → Kingler
Tangela
Aipom
Wingull lvl. 25 → Pelipper
Side note, get the good rod (old rod location from base game) It is needed for a bunch of the

Baltoy lvl. 36 → Claydol
Spearow lvl. 20 → Fearow
Fishing
Dratini lvl. 30 → Dragonair lvl. 55 → Dragonite
Corphish lvl. 30 → Crawdaunt

Route 2 (back through Diglett’s cave)

Mr. Mime (Trade for Magnemite)

Now all you need is to grind the required lvls. The best places for experience isn’t as cut in
stone as last part. The level span is greater on the mons you grind, so switching is
necessary. Diglett’s cave is the highest exp. gain, but you can’t switch train, Vermillion city
and route 11 is about the same in experience, so what place is just up to your teams
weakness’.

Use moon stones on Nidorina, Nidorino, Skitty, Clefairy and Jigglypuff. Sunstone on either
Gloom or Sunkern depending on your choice at 0 badges.

Rare candy guide

Basically my general rule was use rare candies as soon as a pokemon hits level 40 and still
needs levels. If you have 3 or 4 Zigzagoons in your party that shouldn’t be a problem.
Snorunt does not listen to you and therefore is a b̶i̶t̶c̶h̶ to train, so rare candy it when you just
want to throw your save file away.

You should be at 217 when this is all finished and ready to demolish Misty with a team of
pseudo-legendaries.

2 badges
Now we have Cut, so let’s go nut’s cutting down those trees.
Let’s go back and get old amber from Pewter city.

Rare candy guide:

Same as last section, just use it whenever a pokémon hits level 40 and still needs levels.

What a grind, i hope the safari zone didn’t discourage you. Your pokedex should now state
over 300, 315 to be specific. Time to challenge Koga, to access surf.

3 Badges
Now that surf is unlocked we need to go back to two places, and we also have access to the
rest of the map (basically). On your way back to Pallet Town, you should grab the lucky egg
in front of cerulean cave.
