NEXUS Hose TM
Product
This IRM introduces a complete line of industry standard low pressure push-on
hose & couplings as requested by dealers to service industrial equipment,
Authorized Hose & Coupling Sales and Service Centers (ASSC) focused on
industrial business, and dealer-serviced OEMs. These hoses are the latest of
several planned NEXUS hose introductions designed to provide dealers a
comprehensive product line to pursue non-traditional markets.
The competitively priced line will feature 250 PSI maximum working pressure
hose product available in 5 sizes (1/4”, 3/8”, ½”, 5/8”, and ¾”) and 4 colors
(black, red, blue, & grey) and a selection of 42 popular couplings in standard
SAE/JIC end types.

Application
The Push-On hose & coupling line of products are designed for air, lubricated air,
water, water/oil emulsion, water/glycol hydraulic fluids, petroleum based
hydraulic fluids, and lubricating oils in a wide range of shop air systems and
general industrial, maintenance, and automotive applications.
Identification
These products feature a NEXUSTM branded ink layline with typical industrial
markings for hose type, inside diameter, maximum working pressure, and MSHA
approval code (black hose only).

A promotional data sheet (PEHJ0130) will be available soon. The part numbers
have been added to the Hydraulic Information System (H.I.S.). The on-line
version of H.I.S. is available free to dealers via the extranet at https://his.cat.com.
Please refer to IRM HOS00-1 for a complete line of Quick Disconnect type
adapters that may be used with the Push-On couplings.

Assembly Procedure
2. Lubricate the inside of the hose and the coupling liberally using light oil or
soapy water. DO NOT USE HEAVY OIL OR GREASE. Push hose onto
coupling until hose end bottoms underneath the protective cap. You may
need to use a vice to hold the coupling securely during this process.
