Detective: hello I’m detective Purvaansh(extentds hand to shake, aanyay will say:social distancing and
stop him). mai aapki khoi hui behen ka case handle kr raha hu. So aanyay, I guess being swatika with out
an h ki choti behen hone k naate you must have known something about her disappearance?

Yoko: Ji hanji…aaaa…mera mtlb ha mei janti hu vo uss din kisse milne gayi thi. He was her former
classmate and an acquaintance of mine. That day Mayumi went to meet him and never returned back
home.

Detective: Was there anything else that others don’t know about...Especially your parents?

Yoko: Yeah..ummm inside Myumi’s closet , I found a letter that was left behind by her. In the letter, she
confessed to having cheated on her husband. She wanted to leave her family and wanted to start over a
new life with her lover.

Detective: So…. who is that person?

Yoko: I don’t know since she didn’t mention any name. She addressed him as (A). She also asked for
forgiveness in the letter since she cannot live like this anymore. Poor child! It must be hard on her. A
phone number was also left on the letter. I guess it was A’s. I received calls from that number too. He
said that Mayumi was with him and that she was happy.

Detective: okay, so did you do anything to find your sister over the past few years?

Yoko: Yes. After her disappearance I hired a private investigator to find her whereabouts. But I only
hired him for 6 months. One day, the investigator found A and followed him into a heavily the wooded
area. He saw that A was holding two cups of coffee in each hand was going deep into the woods. He
tried his best to keep following A but eventually lost him. After that he could not find A again. Then I also
stopped paying him and ended our contract.

Detective: You told us that you found a letter in the closet left behind by your sister but the police didn’t
find any letter. Where is that letter? As well the classmate that you claim to have met Mayumi has
denied that fact as she never meet Mayumi again after graduation. What do you have to say about that?
Also, about the private investigator…. Police did not find any evidence of that as well and if you did hire
the investigator why did you stop paying him in the middle..?

Yoko: I know you are having a hard time believing my story and anyone would ….since I don’t have any
evidence. But I know everything I said is true. The letter that I told you about...Sadly I tore it after
reading it in fit of anger. At that moment, I just couldn’t believe my younger sister could do this. I know
if I hadn’t tore the letter apart maybe finding her would have been easier. As for the classmate, if she is
denying the fact then maybe Mayumi lied. I mean she has already lied about so many things till now…it’s
not hard to believe that she may have lied at that moment. And the private investigator...Of course it
may be hard finding about him since I told him to keep the investigation secret do that my parents do
not find out about this. Since he was charging a lot but not being able to any much information…I ended
the contract with him early on.
