| Polybit / Polycoat RBE Rubberized bitumen emulsion Tough, seamless and flexible vapor proof protective coating Cold applied Single comgonent, easy to epely Can be applied on damp substrates Can be appliad in closed or confined areas. Woter based Good resistance gains! chloride and sulphate ions Has good adhesion fa most building substrates Seamless/int free Prevents fungal growin BS = Polycoot RBE is an emulsified rubber modified bitumen coating, which dries to form o tough, seamless, flexible ‘vapor proof protective coating. Polycoo! RBE conforms to the requirement of ASTMD 1227 Type ll, closs vrvvvyyyy Can be used for @ wide variely of applications, which includes the following} = protectv crete foundations = curing compound on freshly cost concrete structures = dam = yopor proof barrier coating The opaication lemoerolre should be between 5°C to 55°C. Apalication procedures may vay slightly depending upon sile condions. The general recommended guidelines forthe ‘pplication ofthe bitumen coating sytem is 0s folows: Surface preparation The surface shel be cleoned thoroughly of all contaminants Wee dust, races of curing compourd, oil and grease. Ligh mechanical grinding/art blosting/high aressure woter el may be used fo clean the surface ofall te contaminants ing oF .of membrane in sandwich canslrucions depending on the degree of contamination on the surface to be coated, All surface imperfections and protrusions shall be removed and repaired. Structurally unsound ond 3 friable concrete must be removed and repaired with 0 suitable Poljcrete” concrete repair moor. Priming Ihis highly recommended to apply o priming coat prior ta the application of the Palycos! RBE coating on the substrate, The primer can be prepared inthe sey diluting Polycoat RBE with 20% woter and applying this diluted coot asthe primer. For very dry and porous substrates epoly two coats ofthis primer. The primer con be applied to damp or freshly cas! concrete surfaces aso. However, should nol be opalied on waterlogged or flowing water areas. Further coals shall be applied onl alter the primer coot dries off completely. In case of delay in application of the top coat for more than 24 hours, afresh hall be re-opplied. Foundation Dampproofing Slirthe contents ofthe drum thoroughly before application to remove all sediments. Depending on the dry film thickness required, apply the rubberized bitumen costing @1—Am?/L./coat. For highly demonding situations, i is recommended fo apply in mulile coais to echiev ‘eave thickness. On vertical areas, is recommended to opply he cooting in muliple layers in order to avoid sagging of the heavy bodied coating, Subsequent coats eT AMARC shall be applied only after the previous coat dries of ‘completely ond shall be applied a right angles to the previous coat. Clean dry sand may be broodcasted onto the wel coating lo provide a key for the subsequent coats ‘and achieve o greater dry film thickness, The coating should be applied and finished up to the DPC level. Fa plaster or cement render isto be applied on the bitumen coated surface, clean dry sand shall be broadcas‘ed on to the coating whilst itis still wet, Leave the cooting for ‘curing for a minimum period of 48 hours before applying ‘any protection beard or backilling. Care shall be taken to ensure that the frst coat is not punctured during the ‘pplication of the second coat. However, if the coating is domaged, the ares can be readily over cooted provided the surface preperation is done properly Protection Polycoat RBE coating should be protected from getting domaged due to the ongoing site activilies and during backflling. Coating laid on horizontal surfaces can be protected either by a cement sand screed (50mm shiek) or by an asphaltic protection board (Bituboard}*. On vertical surfaces the membrane has to be protected with Bitubo Bituboord can be fixed on the membrane by a double sided bitumen adhesive tape (Woterte TS 15) Note: Curing eliciency of bitumen based emulsion will no! to be high as that of resin based curing compounds, The coverage varies depending on the type of use: General Use : 2-4 mi/L/cost at required no. of co's Clean all tools immediately ofter use with water. Hardened material can be cleoned with o solve The drums must be slored in © covered arv9, away from direct sunlight, UV and other sources of heat. The shelf Ife of the produc is uo to 12 months if stored as per the recommendations. Excessive exposure to sunlight ‘ond UV will result in the deterioration of the product and reduce is shel Ife. ‘As with all bitumen products, caution should always be ‘exercised, Protective clothing such as gloves ond gogales should be worn. (See packing for specific instructions).
