Subjects such as Arts, Sports, and Music are being dropped from the school curriculum for

subjects such as Information Technology. Many children suffer as a result of these changes.
To what extent would u support or reject the idea of moving these subjects from school
curriculum?
It is argued that subjects such as Arts, Sport and Music are being eliminated from the
educational program to make place for subjects such as Information Technology. Although this
replacement in the school program is necessary, I believe that the 3 subjects should not be
excluded for a variety of reasons.
On the one hand, it is more practical to study about Information Technology rather than Arts,
Music, Sports. Firstly, Information Technology provides students with requisite knowledge and
skills for their future employment. All kinds of occupations require people to be skilled at
utilizing computers and applying technology into their works. Secondly, adding this subject into
the curriculum allows further opportunities for students having passion of Technology to
acquire more knowledge related to it.
On the other hand, the elimination of Sports, Arts, Music has an adverse impact on students’
overall development. Firstly, each subject plays a particular role in their learning process at
school. Arts in which students can freely draw pictures, blend colors and carve sculptures
enhances their creativity and imagination. In terms of sports, this subject plays an irreplaceable
role in improving health and physical development through encouraging them to do outdoor
activities. Thanks to music, not only can students have their sense of perception for music, but
they can also rely on music to relieve stress caused by tensed exams and difficult lessons. As a
consequence, if we exclude these subjects from the school program, students cannot grow in a
comprehensive way. Secondly, the elimination of these 3 subjects limits chances for students
who possess precocious skills to exhibit their talent, therefore, this change cannot create the
ideal learning environment for students.
In conclusion, although the practicality of Information Technology is of great significance, we
should not exclude Sports, Music ,and Arts for the development of students in various aspects.
