Management is defined as the attainment of goals and objectives of an organization by making sure
the different parameters work very well and the same will get things in perfect way. There are some
functions that are being used in the management function.

The four management functions that are particularly used are Planning, Organizing, Leading and
controlling. These four function makes sure that the management works perfectly fine by making all
the aspects work together in the best possible way.

Management skills are the skills that makes sure that the company works in the best possible way
and the attainment of goals and objectives gets thing done.

Manager roles will help in getting the right role for right position and the right position will help in
getting to the objectives and goals very quickly and effectively.

Management and organization are two pillars that are associated with each other, a good
management will take organization upwards and the organization if went upward will reward the
employees and the management as well.

C. Outcome

Fundamentals of management is something that has all the factors and inside things considered to
get the management working and attainment of goals and objectives in best possible way. There are
roles and responsibilities that work together with the given aspects and the same then make sures is
going well.

D. Conclusion

Week 1 of Management principal showed us the Fundamentals of the management that is consisted
of managers, roles of managers and other related skills like the management skills and managerial
roles as well as the function of management and organization in getting things done.
WEEK 2: THE ENVIRONMENT AND CORPORATE CULTURE

External environment is the forces that put impact on the company from external aspects. These
factors will do have a large impact on the company and the same will result into certain aspects and
returns as well.

The general environment is the internal environment that impacts the company or the organization
internally. These are the facts that effect the organization like the employees, shareholders, policies
and related aspects as well.

Customers are referred as the individual that are buying the products and services of the
organization. Customers are the most integral part of the organization and the same decides
whether the company will grow or not in the market.

Competitors are the other organisations that are dealing into same products and services that the
current company is also dealing in.

Suppliers are the ones that supply raw material to the organization and the same suppliers are very
important to fulfil the orders and make sure the company goes well.

C. Outcome

The environment and corporate culture is getting mixed with external and general environment and
the inter linkage of customers, competitors and suppliers altogether. All these players play good role
in getting the management and the environment in perfect way.

D. Conclusion

Week 2 of the fundamentals of management has given us the overview of the environment and the
corporate culture associated with the same. There are so many environment and the key players
playing their role in making sure the environment and the corporate cultures get things done and
making sure the return is really good.
WEEK 3: ORGANISATIONAL PLANNING AND GOAL SETTING

Planning is defined as the preparation of deciding goals and settings as well. With such a good thing,
planning is something the company will do so that the results remains really good and the same will
help the organisation in achieving the goals and objectives.

Goals and performance are the aims of the organisation. These goals are formed to make sure that
the objectives remains same and they go in the same direction where they are required to go so that
the organisational planning goes in the desired direction.

Management by objectives is the fact that the manager and the employees together set the goal to
achieve the required prospects.

Benefits of MBO are very vast as the organisation and employee will both be positive and the same
will remain in the best section.

Problems of MBO are the behaviour and other factors underlying that the company will have certain
problems will result in to the loss actions and the same will result in the disagreement by the
employees if the goals are not liked by the employees.

C. Outcome

Organisational planning and the goal setting as we know is consisted of all the planning that an
organisation does in accordance with the goals that they have set. These goals and objectives helps
the organisation to reach at a predefined specific place to get successful.

D. Conclusion

Week 3 concluded the organisational planning and goal setting objective of the management
principles. With concepts like planning, goals and performance, management by objectives and
related aspects, the organisation can really perform well and achieve its long term goals.
WEEK 4: STRATEGY FORMULATION AND IMPLEMENTATION

Strategy is something that is having creative advantages. In order to fulfil any objective, a road plan
is prepared and the same is considered as the strategy. These strategy will result into the completion
of the strategy and achievement of the objectives.

The levels of strategy is defined as the strategy levels that are carefully created to achieve step by
step achievement of the goals.

We also do SWOT analysis in order to visualize the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats
as well to evaluate the organization to see where the company is at the present level.

The portfolio strategy makes sure that the company is having a group of strategy in such a way that
these things get done and also these things will result in making the policy.

BCG Matrix is evaluates two dimensions of the organisation. These 2 dimensions are the growth,
market share and whether the company is a cash cow or question mark or the star or the dog.

C. Outcome

The strategy formulation and the implementation resulted in the inclusion of strategy, levels of
strategy, SWOT analysis and the portfolio strategy as well. These strategy matrixes has helped us to
gain serious knowledge about how things should world and where we can learn as well.

D. Conclusion

Week 4 concluded with straight of the box information about the strategy formulation and the
implementation. In order to make sure the strategy remains good and progressive, the organisation
has to do certain policy formulation so that it sticks to the same and grow further.
WEEK 5: DESIGNING ORGANISATIONAL STRUCTURE

The organisational structure is consisted of individuals working as employees and other people as
well that are destined to get in touch with the rules and aims of the organisation. Formal reporting
relationships will be taken care and the same will go ahead and perform well.

Work specialization is the degree of specialization to which the different roles and responsibilities
are getting done. These roles and responsibilities are very important to make sure the work remains
good in all the factors.

Authority in an organisation is the manager or the further manger that helps in getting the work
done in a beautiful manner. The manger decides how to turn the company towards good aspects.

Tall structure is consisted of narrow span, more hierarchical levels and slower decision-making levels
are required.

Flat structure is having upward trends towards the broader span of the control and the hierarchical
levels also remains relatively few.

C. Outcome

Designing and organisational structure is more focused on the products and services that are related
to the progressive sectors of the individuals and the same will also recall while establishing the
organisational structure and work specialization with the authority as well.

D. Conclusion

Week 5 concluded with the information and learnings regarding the type of organisational structure,
work specialization and the authority structure as well. Both the tall and flat structure was also seen
that the work is getting done in best and possible way to understand the sectors.
WEEK 6: MANAGING HUMAN RESOURCES

Human resource management is the hiring, training and managing the best workforce in the
organisation with a holistic view of making sure the goals and objectives of the company get things
done.

Information Technology is getting involved on a vast scale and this is the same sector that helps us in
visualizing the aspects that the HR has used IT tools and made sure the same helps the HR
department to perform things in a nicer way.

Innovations in terms of using dashboards, hiring experiments, recruitment advertising and other
ways are all the innovations that are being used by the HR to perform the activities.

Human resource planning is the concept of planning HR activities in such a way that the ongoing
planning remains best and the management is also in the perfect aspects.

Recruiting is defined as the hiring of individuals in order to fulfil the gap that has been made in the
organisation. Hiring is a positive sign showing the fact that the company is progressing and is in need
of new people to join the organisation on their growth path.

C. Outcome

Managing human resources made us learn things related to huma resource management,
informational technology in the HR and also the latest innovations that are there in the HR. human
resource planning and recruiting gets diversified.

D. Conclusion

Week 6 concluded with positive notes by teaching and giving us understanding about how the whole
Human resource management system works. The activities that HR has to do and also get things
done. There are many responsibilities and the unit made us understood those duties of HR in good
way.
WEEK 7: LEADERSHIP

Leadership is the quality of an individual that is leading the employees and group of employees to a
specific goal and objective. The leader is something that wanted to take the organisation to new
highs.

The nature of leadership is of great importance as the company’s growth and downfall is directly
supported by the way a leader treats the employees. The nature should always be progressive and
getting things done will result in the same and making sure the variability is there.

Servant leadership is the way when the leader transcends the interest that he or she is having in
order to fulfill other’s dream and getting things done.

Authentic leadership is really perfect way as this follows the true and valuable aspects and gets
things done in order to have the positive ways of the company to move ahead.

It has been observed that male and female leadership qualities are also getting things done and then
the same will have super impact on the growth of the organisation.

C. Outcome

Leadership is one of the most important aspect that the organisation is having and is responsible for
taking the company to new heights by fulfilling goals. The nature of leadership, servant leadership
and related allies helped us in learning the true value that a great leadership brings on board.

Week 7 of the management principles in the unit leadership helped us in learning the leadership
aspects in different ways like the nature of leadership, the servant and authentic leadership and also
the gender differences that are there.
WEEK 8: MOTIVATING EMPLOYEES PART 1

Motivation are defined as the forces that encourages the individual to perform certain task with
great zeal and enthusiasm. Individual sometimes need motivation to make sure that the task is
getting performed nicely.

There are basically four quadrants of the motivation, that is the quadrant 1 and 2 with quadrant 1
using negative extrinsic and the other quadrant uses positive extrinsic. Both these are termed as the
motivation quadrants.

Nowadays, organisations are becoming manager-less and in order to keep the environment up and
running, there is a huge requirement of motivation to support the employees in the boss – less
environment in an organisation.

There are several methods that can be used to get in touch with the employees to make sure the
boss-less environment is motivated. These methods are never hiding information, replying ono
intrinsic rewards and also letting people to have their own goals.

Needs are there and they can be of may types. The hierarchy of needs ranges from psychological
needs, safety needs and esteemed needs to look after.

Motivating employees in this unit provided us the individual needs and motivation with the
quadrants related to motivation and the motivation that has to be there in a boss-less environment
made us understand certain things that is environment in the management of principle.

D. Conclusion

Week 8 showed us the motivational aspects that are important for an organisation. The organisation
can be seen expanding the business if the motivation among employees is found to be good. The
unit also made us understand the quadrants related to motivation, the boss-less environment and
hierarchy needs as well.
WEEK 9: MOTIVATING EMPLOYEES PART 2

Goal setting theory directs the individual to set certain goals that are more achievable and
motivating to the employee. These goals should be specific, challenging, accepted and should be
able to have feedback as well.

This theory of equity sees perception of the individuals about how they get treated with equality and
also with the fact that they are respected at their job places and this the theory that has to be
replicated in each and every type of environment.

The theory proposes the fact that motivation can only be developed if the individual is willing to
have the same. The expectation can simply ring the motivation and the motivation will lead the
individual to do the job and get things done.

These are the set of techniques through which reinforcement is getting done and the same is used as
the reinforcement theory as well as the direct reinforcement. Job design is also there for the
motivation and also getting things done is some sort of the expectation to make sure the things
remains good.

The motivating employees unit in this week has covered different aspects related to the goal setting
theory and the equity theory as well that has been recognized as the main part of the motivation
that has to be there in getting things done and making sure that the employees remains positive on
the job.

D. Conclusion

Week 9 of management principles ended with the learnings given to us related to goal setting theory
and equity theories. The response that has been there with regards to expectancy theory and the
direct reinforcement resulted into good response and the same was seen ahead for the motivation
for job design.
WEEK 10: LEADING TEAMS

A unit of two or more people together working towards something is referred to as the team. A
team is competitive enough to get along with certain aspects and perform things to make sure the
same goes ahead perfectly.

Teamwork provides value for the team and there has been much cited inter – dependent on the
individuals. Team is having great value in getting the same interested and getting done.

Self - managed teams are the ones that gets managed everything in the perfect manner and also
there is no need of any kind of manager who is t here to manage the team and do good things while
doing some work.

Virtual teams are formed with the help of computer networks and other aspects as well. These
virtual teams helps in connecting one another in such a way that complete team is being formed.

Team effectiveness can be counted with the help of different aspects, these are the productive
output, the personal satisfaction and the capacity to adapt and learn as well.

C. Outcome

The leading teams here can be seen expressing facts like the team, value of team and self-managed
teams as well. The dilemma of having a perfect team is really good and the virtual teams are the
main model of getting effectiveness.

D. Conclusion

Week 10 of management principles had us through the concepts of team and the team
management. We got to know about different perspectives that are followed inside a team building
scenario. Value of team is being taken care and the same is constructed making sure everything
remains bonded.
WEEK 11: MANAGERIAL AND QUALITY CONTROL

Organisational control will have the control over the organisational activities and related aspects will
make the consistent and related pathologies as well in accordance with the organisation so that the
same remains good.

The feedback control mainly makes sure that the organisation is also getting done. These actions are
called post-action and output control as well. These involves early internet steps and other factors.

This is a type of management control system that gets more than the traditional and operational
aspect in order to measure and operational with respect to the measuring of the critical and their
success manager.

The budgetary control makes sure that the control should be there in accordance with several
aspects and it has to be expense budget and revenue budget and the cash budget in order to get
things done.

Financial control makes sure that the balance sheet and other aspect of showing the firm and other
relative organisations and making the perfect aspect of the known figures.

C. Outcome

The managerial and quality control helped in understanding the organisational, feedback, budgetary
and financial control with the balanced scorecard with respect to the certain environment and
getting things on track with the managerial quality control procedures.

D. Conclusion

Week 11 being the last unit of the subject management principle helped learning several model and
control methods. These includes organisational controls, feedback control, the balance scorecard
and other aspects as well. These things are more important while having managerial and quality
control.
