The World Union of Karate-Do Federations (WUKF) is delighted to announce the new WUKF
European Tour. This new idea will create a ranking system for athletes where they can collect points
based on results and become European Tour Champion at the end of the year.
The tour will be held under the auspices of the European Union of Karate-Do Federations (EUKF).
As this is the first year of the WUKF European Tour, we have preselected existing competitions to
implement the ranking process. The tour will be reviewed at the end of 2022 with the opportunity
for existing federations to host a WUKF European Tour event in 2023.
In order to organise and develop the tour moving forward, the European Tour Commission has been
established to coordinate events and rankings. Commission members:
▪ The federation must be a full member of WUKF. Provisional members cannot apply to host a
WUKF European Tour Event.
▪ The host city must have suitable and competent flight connections.
▪ The WUKF European Tour is an international competition. Any host federation must show a
minimum presence of 8 different countries at their last event.
▪ The host competition must include 6 tatami areas and show usage of 6 areas in last three
years of their event.
▪ The host organiser must secure a minimum of 6 WUKF International Referees from different
countries (not federations). Each referee must be minimum standard of WUKF Referee A.
▪ The host organiser must invite a member of the WUKF Referee Commission to be present at
the event and cover accommodation and flights.
▪ The host organiser must invite a member of the WUKF European Tour Commission to be
present at the event and cover accommodation and flights.
▪ The host organiser must arrange an international referee’s seminar led by a member of the
WUKF Referee Commission.
▪ Promotion of the event will be arranged via the WUKF Public Relations Officer.
▪ The organiser will collate results and send to the WUKF European Tour Commission within 3
days of the event.
▪ The organiser will arrange for recorded highlights videography or live streaming of the
event.
▪ Athletes will be required to register with ‘WUKF UNIQUE’ for the purpose of ranking.
