COURSE GUIDE

GINST 003 – ENGLISH ENHANCEMENT PROGRAM 1


 This module was designed for you to learn independently and carefully
while at your comfort zones.
It is expected that interactive learning and teaching will enrich your
learning experience. You will work in partnership with me to create a
positive learning experience. Therefore, your engagement is a necessary
condition for an active learning experience. It includes contributions in
terms of discussion, positive interactive learning with others, and an
enthusiastic attitude towards inquiry.  Moreover, you are expected to be a
positive contributor to the class learning community, and you are to share
the responsibility of learning from each other.
The following guidelines will help you to be on track:
1.      Read through the COURSE SYLLABUS, so you know the rhythm of the
course, and what is to be expected.
2.      Plan and manage your time to read and understand every section of
the module. Read it many times until you understand the point.
3.      You must adhere to a standard of academic conduct by demonstrating
respect to your classmates and to the core values of the University.
4.      Treat your professor and classmates with respect at all times.
5.      In answering you learning packet. Be guided with these rules:
a.      Take your answers seriously and review and edit when necessary
before sending them.  Use clear and concise language.  Remember that all
communications especially your written output should have correct spelling
and grammar.
b.      Always give proper credit when referencing or quoting another source.
c.       Avoid short, generic replies such as "I agree."  You should include an
explanation of why you agree.
d.      Avoid slang terms such as "wassup" and texting abbreviations such as
"u" instead of "you."
e.      Follow all the instructions in answering all the assessment and
evaluation activities in order not to be misguided.
f.        Answer all questions briefly but substantially when needed.
g.      Manage to do your activities in this module with consideration to your
other modules from other courses. Be very sensible with your schedule.
6.      Quizzes, Activities, Assignments, Performances, and other activities
are listed in each module.  You are expected to pace your learning
according to the posted course activities. 
7.      Take note of the deadline for submission. If you need clarification on
an assignment or course requirements, ask at least 72 hours before it is
due.  Otherwise, you may not get an answer in time to complete the
assignment successfully.
8.      All activities are to be individually done unless specified that it is a
group assignment or requirement. 
9.      You are the learner. Work independently. Your family and friends
could help you but the activities must be accomplished solely by you. As a
Salettinian, you need to be guided by the University’s core values of faith,
reconciliation, integrity, excellence, and solidarity.
10.  As a requirement for periodic summative assessment (prelim, midterm,
and finals), it is required that you provide a scanned copy or picture of your
examination permit.
