Examination Guidelines – ETE -March 2022

APPEARING IN ONLINE EXAMINATIONS

1. Steps for Accessing the Exam Online:

• The students will login with their respective students Login ID in the student’s portal and click
on “Go To Exam” option.
• The students will need to type their Access Key (Password) which will be provided in the
admit card against each course in order to initiate the exam process by the student.
• URL for the exams will also be provided in case the students are unable to login through the
student’s portal.
• Student are required to keep login details safe and NOT share this information with anyone
else.
2. Before starting the exam:

➢ Student appearing in the Exam must ensure following:


o Webcam (640X480 resolution)
o Desktop / laptop (Without any external disturbances / interruptions)
o Working Microphone
o Any Desk https://anydesk.com/download (to provide remote assistance by our technical team,
in case of any issues)
o No software update should be activated (to turn off all the software updates).
o Make sure all background applications are closed or disabled as any of the notification pop-up
will be considered as navigation.
o Power backup & strong internet connection are MANDATORY for seamless examination.
o Google Chrome Browser- the exam will work on CHROME BROWSER ONLY

Windows
To use Chrome Browser on Windows, you'll need:
· Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 8.1, Windows 10 or later
· An Intel Pentium 4 processor or later that's SSE2 capable

· Chrome on Windows · 88.0.4324.182

o Minimum bandwidth requirement: 512 KBPS on each system for exam duration (for actual
exam)
o Do a speed test to check the internet upload & download speed at www.speedtest.net
o Working integrated web camera (front camera in case of laptop/ desktop) and microphone.

o The Location setting has to be kept on.

➢ Executing the Mock test

• Students are mandated to give mock test from the device from which they plan to appear for the
actual exam. This ensures device readiness/compatibility to give exam and Student will get

a provision of exam view. The mock test URL to be used is:

3. During the exam:

• Students must note that though the test is being taken at their place of stay yet their conduct
during examination will be proctored using system enabled as well as Human proctor.
• Student’s real time video and audio feed is being transmitted to the Proctor in real time for
invigilation.
• Student should note that examination authority has zero tolerance policy for unethical behavior.
• Students to take the examination with utmost solemnity and ensure that all the instructions are
strictly followed.
• Exam Authority reserves the right to disqualify any Student who is found to be indulging in any kind
of malpractice.
• Student should be ready 15 minutes before commencement of the examination.
• The student will be allowed to enter the test Only at the start time of the selected slot for the
examination.
Post login,
o Student to allow Camera, location and Microphone access when the exam URL
prompts for the same.
o Verification of Student Photo: Click photo on the system.
o ID Card verification: Click photo of Government issued valid Photo ID Card.
o Authentication of the Identity by the Proctor. Once authentication completes, Student
will be allowed to start the exam and view the question paper by typing the access key
which is provided in the Admit Card against each eligible course.

Recommended Dos:
• Ensure you are sitting in a well-lit area, the photo captured by the exam application is clear.
• Ensure that the Laptop/desktop being used is aligned is such a way as your complete face is
visible in the camera frame.
• The Student should be properly dressed in formals.
• Ensure you are comfortably seated on table/chair.
• Ensure that nobody is around you and do not adopt any kind of unfair means.
• Students need to be on Exam URL Screen only till they complete the exam.
• The Proctor may give you certain instructions during the exam, which will be visible in the chat box
on the exam screen. Follow the instructions properly.
• Students are requested to keep attention on chat window (with proctor/ invigilator) provided in
exam screen.
• Students have to be visible in front of the screen of their Laptop / Desktop during the exam.

Recommended Don’ts:

• Ensure that there is no Light (Bulb, Tube light, open window etc.) behind you. You must always face
the light source.
• Do not talk to anyone in person or through the phone. It may get recorded.
• No other person is in the room from which you are appearing for the exam.
• Do not navigate away from the exam window. Warning will be displayed and recorded. After
few attempts, your exam may automatically end.

• Student not to get away with the notion that in the Online Examination since there will not be any
invigilator physically present, Students activities will be constantly observed, monitored and
recorded.
• The Camera and MIC should not to be covered with any article during the entire exam duration.
• Browsing to other window/ application is prohibited. After few warnings, system will
automatically end Student exam.
• Once Student click and confirm End Exam, will not able to resume again. So, the students are
advised to not End the exam until it’s completed.

4. If the online exam is interrupted

• In case the exam gets disconnected. The responses will be saved.


• If the student is still unable to login and face any other issues, they may reach out through the
helpline number to the technical support team for assistance. The helpline numbers will be
available in the student’s portal during the examination.

EXAMINATION SCHEDULE
• The examination scheduled to be held is as under:
Theory Exams: Tuesday, (29.03.2022) to Wednesday, (13.04.2022)
Practical Exams: Saturday, (16.03.2022) to Sunday, (17.04.2022)
(Note: Practical exams are scheduled for BCA & MCA students only)
(The practical exams are NOT APPLICABLE to the students of BCA &MCA enrolled from July
2020 onwards

EXAMINATION SLOTS:

• The student has the flexibility to choose from three predefined exam slots:
Slot 1- 10 AM -12 PM IST
Slot 2 – 2 PM – 4 PM IST
Slot 3 - 6 PM – 8 PM IST
• Student may opt any slot at a time.

(Note: The system time must be as per the Indian Standard Time (IST) at the time of examination)

TYPES OF QUESTION PAPER FOR EXTERNAL ASSESSMENT / END TERM EXAMINATION (ETE)

The question papers would consist of multiple choice and subjective questions with the weightage of
70% in following pattern:

• Section A: Comprises of Four subjective questions of 7.5 marks each; attempt any two with
detailed answers to be typed by the learner in the dialogue box provided for the purpose. This
section carries 15 marks.
• Section B: Comprises of a case study followed by Two Questions of 7.5 marks each. This
section carries 15 marks.
• Section C: Twenty MCQs of Two mark each. This section carries 40 marks

➢ Section A - 2 Essay Questions X 7.5 Marks = 15 Marks


➢ Section B - 2 Essay Questions X 7.5 Marks = 15 Marks
➢ Section C - 20 MCQs X 2 Marks = 40 Marks

Total Marks =70 Mark

TYPES OF QUESTION PAPER FOR EXTERNAL ASSESSMENT / END TERM EXAMINATION (ETE):
For mentioned TWO programmes
1. Post Graduate Diploma in Digital Marketing Strategies
2. Post Graduate Diploma in Business Analytics and Intelligence

The question papers would consist of multiple choice and subjective questions with the weightage of
60% in following pattern:

• Section A: Comprises of Four subjective questions of 5 marks each; attempt any two with
detailed answers to be typed by the learner in the dialogue box provided for the purpose. This
section carries 10 marks.
• Section B: Comprises of a case study followed by Two Questions of 5 marks each. This
section carries 10 marks.
• Section C: Twenty MCQs of Two mark each. This section carries 40 marks.

➢ Section A - 2 Essay Questions X 5 Marks = 10 Marks


➢ Section B - 2 Essay Questions X 5 Marks = 10 Marks
➢ Section C - 20 MCQs X 2 Marks = 40 Marks
Total Marks =60 Marks

PASSING CRITERIA
To qualify in examination a learner must obtain the following Marks: -

· Minimum 30% marks in End Term Examination (ETE)


· Minimum 30% marks in Internal Assessment.
· Minimum 40% overall aggregate i.e., both Internal Assessment & End Term Examination put
together. (For PG)
· Minimum 35% overall aggregate i.e., both Internal Assessment & End Term Examination put
together. (For UG)

For, PG Programmes
However, to qualify in a semester you have to obtain minimum 5.0 Semester Grade Point
Average(SGPA) and, to qualify in the program, minimum 6.0 Cumulative Grade Points Average
(CGPA) is required.

For, UG Programmes
However, to qualify in a semester you have to obtain minimum 4.5 Semester Grade Point Average
(SGPA) and, to qualify in the program, minimum 5.0 Cumulative Grade Points Average (CGPA) is
required.

Since End Term Examinations of AMITY ONLINE are held twice in a year there will be no supplementary
examination for learners. Learners intending to appear again can do so in the
Examination Guidelines – ETE -March 2022

following End Term Examination, as applicable from time to time, within the maximum duration laid
down for that program.
