ACTIVITY 3 MOTION

I. Observe the diagram below. A person starts at point A, walks along the bold path and finishes at point
B.

Each side of the square is 1 km. Use the diagram in answering the following questions.

1. What distance has the person travelled?


 This person walks a distance of 31 Km
2. What is the person’s displacement?
 This person has a displacement of 3 Km each

II. Solve the following problems. Show your solution and box the final answer.

1. If a bus keeps moving at 50 km/h, how many hours will it take for the bus to

travel a 600km distance?

6,000 km ÷ 50 km/h

= 120 km/h

2. A car takes 30s to travel 40m due east and another 20m in the same direction.

What is its average velocity?

DISTANCE: 40+20

TIME: 30 SECONDS

40+20= 60

60÷30

= 2 m/s
