A Man is a Dust

By Maureen D. Bondoc (Oct. 6, 2021)

What is life after today?

Who knows what tomorrow is?

Where do we all heading?

Why are people full of distress?

…eating but still hungry;

…drinking but still thirsty.

How can we really know what is right from wrong when all claim to be right and light?

Life is so sweet and amazing, but it turns bitter and horror because of enviousness, jealousy, selfishness,
and self-centeredness seen in harsh words, lying tongue, gossips, bad actions, and negative feedback.

A man is a victim until he makes another victim because unconsciously, the same traits (anger,
bitterness, enviousness, jealousy, and selfishness) enter his heart after the pain and injustice he
endured.

All are victims; we are just victims. All think they are victims. How long will we be victims? Are we still
victims? Or, do we now have our victims?

The truth is, there will be no victim if we consider ourselves as nothing; from dust and will go back to
dust.

We think we are victims because we think we are entitled to all things. I have the right to this and that.

Our entitlement makes us believe that we are victims.

Where do we get this entitlement? From the day we were born, our parents made us feel that we
deserved to be cared for and loved. As we gain knowledge and develop skills from experiences and
formal studies, we feel entitled to be honored and compensated based on what we attain.

Entitlement? It is the nature of man. Only God can free us from this condition.

Why is man distress? Because man is trying to beat the world, be the best of all, be known, be happy, be
successful, make things perfect, complete everything, and be full. These made man sad, lonely,
discourage and disappointed.
