or skills.

Knowledge, skills, & attitude/behavior (personal attribute) are competencies. Knowledge


and skills can easily be changed, imparted, or improved but personal attributes are difficult
to change.
Recruitment is the toughest job the candidate may be an asset or a liability to an
organization. But once recruited, we are answerable to the organization and the candidate.
And the candidate cannot be removed from the organization easily.
Industrial relations - it mentions how low performance employees cannot be removed
unless it is proved legally and properly, especially in manufacturing companies.
HR person should know the labor laws.
Knowledge – how informative a person is; Skills – ability to demonstrate, influence and
guide the course of action.

Competency based recruitment: it improves overall performance in an organisation. It helps
recruit right people for the right position at the right time.
Competency is also essential for carrer planning, succesion planning, performance
management and improvement, leadership development, etc.
