Important: February 2022 AFK™ Seats Available

We have been monitoring public health regulations, such as physical distancing and capacity requirements. Due
to recent changes in Ontario and Quebec, we can now open approximately 600 more seats.
When the February 2022 AFK™ registration first opened, we experienced significant technical issues with our online
portal. We know trying to access your profile was stressful; there were many error messages. Our third-party
provider has not yet been able to confirm the platform would be able to handle the high traffic volume.
Therefore, to ensure a better registration experience, will be using a different registration process for the additional
AFK™ seats. We successfully used the same process for a recent ACS™ registration. The process, outlined below,
should provide a better registration experience for examinees.

The Process

Selecting Locations – Survey

Any eligible examinee who is not currently registered for the AFK™ can submit their interest to take the February 2,
2022 exam.
The survey contains all locations with seats available. You will be asked to rank the locations in order of preference
and where you would be willing to travel.
Please take your time to review the location options and check travel and public health regulations. You could
be assigned any location selected in your survey.
Only answer “YES” to the AFK™ survey if you are sure you want to take the exam. If you answer “YES”, are
selected, and choose not to pay, the seat will then remain empty for the exam. Because of the time it takes to
register, print, pack and ship the examination, we will not be able to add additional examinees.
Interest expressed through the survey, before the deadline, are the only responses that will be considered. Transfer
requests will not be accommodated.

Assigning Registrations – Random Draw

When the survey deadline has passed, all data will be entered into a system which will randomly select NDEB ® ID
numbers. Using the randomly generated order, examinees with these ID numbers will be registered in the
examination. We will do our best to accommodate each examinee’s first choice.
If your first choice is full, you will be assigned the next available location from your list. It is imperative that if you
complete the survey, you only select locations where you are willing to travel; we will not be able to
accommodate any transfer requests.
Once the ID numbers are selected, those who are registered for the examination will be sent an email with
payment instructions. Only examinees offered seats will receive this follow-up email.

Submitting Payment - Timelines

The fee for the examination is $800. Once you receive the payment email, you will have 48 hours to pay the exam
fee. After 48 hours, your registration will be removed, and the seat will not be able to be filled.
