Project Title “Improving the water quality and sources of Barangay Bala-
Oro”

Project Purpose What are the reasons for undertaking this project? Cite the
issues and the need to address them.
One of the main social issues that our community is facing
now is the lack of water supply and a not drinkable water
supply. There is no access to clean drinking water in our
barangay. moreover, there is no regular water running in every
household’s faucet, sometimes it even takes months for the
water flow to come back. Now, in 3 sitios of our Barangay
have no water for about a year because one of the barangay’s
water reservoirs is broken. Even the remaining 2-water
reservoir of our barangay’s water facility is not enough to
supply all the water needed of the barangay’s entire
population. This social issue must be solved immediately
because community water systems and water safety plans are
important ways to ensure the health of the entire community.

Project Objectives What are the goals to be achieved in this project?

 Produce clean drinkable water to the whole Barangay
Bala-Oro.
 Increase the water sources in Barangay Bala-Oro.
 Improve and develop the water supply of Barangay
Bala-Oro
 Preventing re-contamination during storage,
distribution, and handling of drinking water in
Barangay Bala-Oro.


Funds The expected cost and how do you plan to get the required
amount.
 The total anticipated cost of this project is 2.8 million
The financial budget for this project will be from the National
Government. I was planning to reach out to the Barangay
officials and express my ideas and concerns so that they can
come up with a plan along with the budget plan. Then the
Barangay will cooperate together with our municipality’s
Local Government Unit (LGU).
 Those family who wanted to have an underground
water supply from their own yard should pay for their
own expenses.
Specific Activities The step-by-step activities to achieve the goals of your project.
 Reach out to the Barangay Officials and express my
grievances together with the other inhabitants in our
Barangay.
 The Barangay officials will be then developing a plan
and for them to come with the appropriate budget plan.
 Make the Barangay officials cooperate with LGU to get
the proposed budget from the National Government.

For individual households:

 Cooperate with Water.org. It is one of the NGO in the

Philippines that is unique in addressing the economic
issues associated with a lack of clean water. It provides
no-interest loans to families trying to gain access to
clean water in their homes. These loans are used to rig
homes with plumbing as well as build wells.
 Encourage the people to build wells to extract
groundwater from underground aquifers.
 Implement rainwater harvesting systems to collect and
store rainwater for drinking.
 Make the Barangay provide home water-treatment
capability through the use of filters, solar disinfection,
or flocculants, to make drinking water safe.
 Promote low-cost solutions, such as chlorine tablets or
plastic bottles that can be exposed to sunlight, to
improve water quality.
Anticipated Risks The problems you might encounter in the implementation of
your project.
 Lack of budget or financing from the government.
 The project will be denied by the higher ups.
 Corruption in any kinds and forms.
 Community conflict
 Lack of participation from the Barangay officials
including the LGU.
