I. Project Title: Project BOOSTER: Boosting Overall Outcomes of Students’


Tireless Efforts for Recognition

II. Project Duration: School Year 2021-2022 (New normal Setting in Education)

III. Background of the study

During the COVID 19 outbreak, education has transformed. The learners

are in New Normal education where there will be no face-to-face interaction.

Most learners, especially in public schools and in rural places, can benefit from

modular distance learning. As a result, this notion recommends an educational

learning technique that reaches learners in locations like their homes and

provides learning resource materials so that they may be certified without

having to attend formal sessions in person.

The Department of Education (DepEd) is addressing the challenges in the

basic education through its Basic Education Learning Continuity Plan (BE-LCP)

under DepEd Order No. 012, s. 2020. CALABARZON Regional Development

Council (RDC) adopts Enhanced Basic Education - Learning Continuity Plan

which aims to deliver learning opportunities to all learners for School Year (SY)

2021-2022 amidst the public health emergency. Furthermore, the schools’ BE-

LCP strives to guarantee the health, safety, and well-being of learners,

teachers, and staff during COVID-19, while also exploring solutions for

education to continue despite the crisis. Due to this set up, an umbrella project

was developed.

The Project BOOSTER was developed because of the necessary need for

new strategies to boost and strengthen learners’ overall performance. This

project benefits the teachers, students, parents, and guardians.

IV. Objectives

1. To boost the overall outcomes of the students

2. To address the anxiety of the stakeholders

3. To create a health and safe learning environment for the students

4. To properly organize the outputs of the students

V. Innovation Strategies

The proponent, together with her co-teachers are always thinking of a

way to improve our educational situation during this trying times. Teachers,

students, parents and guardians helped each other to develop new strategies

and activities.

The teachers asked the students, parents and guardians about their

opinions, suggestions, and comments about the educational setting of the

learners. In connection with this, Project BOOSTER was created. This project

will boost the overall outcomes of the students’ efforts. It is also decided that

this will be an umbrella project of Grade 10 and it will be having its subprojects.

The first subproject is the Trays for Easy Ways. This project provides

tray for each learners. Every distribution of modules, these trays were placed in

the corresponding tables of every student in the classroom. Grade 10 Advisers

made sure that it was arranged in a way that the parents/guardians who will get

the module will still have social distance with each other. This project has been

significant because it serves as an eye opener to everyone that students can

still get the education that they need without compromising their health and

safety.

Second is the Project TAGS (Tagging and Grouping Students’ Outputs),

this project addresses the needs of the parents/guardians and teachers.

Tagging of outputs helps the parents to distribute the outputs properly in their

respective subjects. It is also color coded. Blue for St. Jude, white for St. Jonas,

red for St. Joseph, violet for St. John, green for St. Jacob, yellow for St. James,

and pink for St. Jeremy.

Third is ENNBELOP (Embracing the New Normal through Better and

Effective Segregation of Students Labor, Outputs and Performances). This

aims to lessen the time parents spend in putting the students’ activities and

outputs, this also avoids confusion in placing the papers of the students in the

trays or boxes. Each learner has eight (8) envelopes corresponding to eight (8)

subjects where they insert their activities and outputs.

The fourth subproject is the Project CONSULTS (Counseling

Opportunities that are Necessarily Susceptible in the Upbringing of Learners’

Talents and Skills). This project aims to ensure the welfare of the students,

especially those vulnerable ones. The teachers conduct one-on-one

consultation with the parents or guardians of the students. They discussed

some issues and concerns about the academic performance of the learners. If

the parent/guardian is not available, the teachers directly contact them thru call,

text, or Messenger. This improves the perception and behavior of the students

through listening and providing them with positive reinforcements.

Fifth, the Project REMIND (Remind and Encourage the Parents to

Maintain and have Initiative in Nurturing and Developing the mind and hearts of

the Learners) desired to develop the parents’ active involvement in the holistic

development of the learners. The teachers communicate with the parents

through face to face (thru project CONSULT), through cellphone and through

online platform. Also, they printed out announcements and reminders for the

parents and students and distributed it.

Lastly, Project SEYPTI (Safely Engage Your Personal Health to Improve

Students’ Performance). This aims to ensure safe educational continuity amidst

the challenges of COVID-19. It aims to strengthen the safety protocol to

maintain the students, teachers, staffs and parents/guardians’ safety and well-

being. It also reduces the anxiety of the teachers, parents and guardians every

time they will visit the school.

VI. Results and Findings

The proponent desired to develop the holistic development of the

learners. Based on the given objectives these are the results and findings:

1. Based on the academic performance of the learners in the first quarter,

68% of the learners passed the first grading period. This shows that

more than half of the students passed the grading. Also, this indicates

that, strategies should be developed to reinforce the learners.

2. Ensuring safe educational environment reduces the anxiety of the

stakeholders. They are at ease that their well-being is being taken care

off. Addressing and understanding the source of the anxiety of the

stakeholders is one of the aims of this project.

3. Creating a safe and healthy educational environment is a must during

this pandemic. COVID-19 can be prevented by sanitizing and

disinfecting. Following the health protocols can ensure the safety of the

students at home. Health and safety protocols are strengthened by

providing thermal scanners and alcohol dispensers for disinfection.

4. Through the organization of outputs and activities, the parents and

guardians avoid confusion in sorting. The cases of the misplaced

activities were lessened. Also, this encourages the learners to organize

their outputs and activities.

VII. Key Changes/Impacts

This project has a huge impact on the solidarity and subsidiarity of the

stakeholders. This shows their willingness to help each other for the

improvement of the education environment of the learners. Here are some of
