SALUTATORY ADDRESS

First would like to welcome OUR GUEST SPEAKER RETIRED TEACHER 2 OF NAVALAS
ELEMENTARY SCHOOL MRS CORAZON LINGAYA, OUR CONFIRMING OFFICERS MRS ROWENA
ORTIZO, OUR DISTRICT SUPERVISOR SERAFIN C. PROVIDO JR, OUR PRINCIPAL PABLITO L.
PEDREGOSA, all the guests, parents, teachers, & community members who could join us here this
morning to participate in this milestone event.

Dear Friends: Had it possible for us to hand each of you a gorgeous rose as you entered this place
this morning, as a token of our pleasure in welcoming you here, this place would have been bright and
fragrant with the eloquence peculiar to the language of flowers.
“Our welcome although unseen, we trust, can still be felt for it is just as real and our appreciation
of your interest for us more lasting than blooms which wither and after a few hours die”.
“To all of you who share our pride in things accomplished, to all who watched with interests
morning commencement of the “yet to be”, our closest bonds are with those parents whose love & care
have endured over a period of years… tolerant of our shortcomings. Theirs, are the eyes that follow us
unwaveringly, reflecting with pride even the smallest measure & progress we make. Personal sacrifice
beyond the call of duty site presented here this evening in the persons of those mothers & fathers who
knew us first, forgave us most and love as more than we can ever deserve”.
“We are humble in the realization that we did not always make the best that was in us; that we
brought this parents disappointments. Their faith in us survived. And because of this our hearts & hands
reach out to them; we offer them a gift this final completion of our elementary level.
“We the class of 2018, of NAVALAS ELEMENTARY SCHOOL have long anticipated this
occasion, as you may well believe. It marks an important milestone in our lives… one of the nearer
destinations which we hope will bring us someday to the ultimate goal of our dreams”.
“We have bidden you here tonight that you may hearten us as we now set forth upon the voyage
into the great unknown. We know not the years may lead us, but we feel that you will always pray for us”.
“From now on, we must carve our own hand-holds as we climb the mountain side… And we shall
be helped immeasurably helped, by what we have learned here by the examples we have seen set before
us, & by the courage which has been taught us”.
“It is not what we are that makes life worth living, but life-our life-shall be… It is the eternal realities
we wait for that gives their true & only worth to the meaning, & fitful dreams of time”.
We have experience yet to gain & we do not, as some people would have think despise life & feel
superior to it. We are ready to listen to those who are older and wiser and yet you will not blame us, I am
sure, that we, too, hope to contribute something of our very own welfare & happiness… something which
will never have come into existence had we not lived and dreamed & worked.
“So we ask that you will be patient with our earnest immaturity that you may wish as a God speed
& wave with cheerful expectancy as we pass on”.
“But we trust that we shall not be as ships that you pass in the right & merely speak to each other
in passing. We shall never forget what we have done for & meant to us. We know that your affection &
interest will abide as long as grass grows & water runs”.
But let us turn from such serious considerations & be joyful in the present-the bright lights, the
golden sunshine, and the contagion of happiness & the presence of our guests, family & friends.
Let us make the most of this hour this golden hour with its nectar & fragrance & beauty. To it, we
welcome you right royally.
