AICE MaST Circus

WHAT IS AICE?
Advanced AICE is a rigorous, advanced program that
provides students the opportunity to earn up
International to 45 hours of college credit.

Certificate of Cambridge University writes the course


Education curriculum, trains our teachers, and grades the
student exams.
(AICE) The textbooks come from Cambridge and are
aligned with the exam expectations.

Students can earn the AICE Diploma and


qualify for Bright Futures (regardless of GPA or
SAT/ACT scores)
SHS is an AICE Demonstration Center School

Demonstration Centers must meet certain


requirements in five key areas:
• Mission and educational values
• Management and leadership
• Teaching and learning
• Physical environment
• Data
MaST Research Institute
Founded in 1995 for students to conduct research
in Math, Sciences, and Engineering
Students will:
1st year – learn the research process/gain research experience
with hands-on experiments galore!
2nd year – delve into scientific literature and gain
writing/presentation skills in the AP Seminar course. Design
your 3rd year project.
3rd-4th year – conduct independent research projects guided by
community and faculty mentors
Present research to community via science fair and other
competitions.
Gain extra knowledge through real world research experience.
Circus Arts Program
Circus Arts Program
Unique SHS Program in partnership with the Circus Arts Conservatory
 Courses and learning experiences that focus on circus arts training
 Beginner/Introductory Level Courses
 Intermediate/Advanced Level Courses
 Circus Dance & Techniques
 Two periods per day – classes held in the Circus Arena
 AICE coursework available
 Develops commitment, resiliency, teamwork, responsibility

Graduation Testing Requirements
Passing scores on the Grade 10 FSA ELA and Algebra
1 End of Course Exam (Level 3 or higher)

If you do NOT receive a passing score on the FSA


ELA/Algebra 1 EOC, you may be required to take an
Intensive Language Arts or Foundational Math class.

You MUST TAKE the EOC exam for Geometry,


Biology, & US History or you will NOT receive credit
for the courses.
Graduation GPA Requirement
2.0 or higher unweighted Grade Point Average
As you progress through high school, your GPA includes
all of the classes you have previously taken and the
points you have earned each semester. Not only must
you have 2.0 GPA in order to graduate, but you will NOT
be allowed to participate in athletics if your unweighted
GPA falls below the 2.0 benchmark!!!
