- Has sample letters to send home to parents about the topics you will be
discussing.
- Covers topics such as emotional health, sexuality and tech, sexual
violence, LGBTQ, Puberty, and consent
- Has lesson plans, videos, readings, ect
- Has an age guide to help you choose the right resources for any grade
level started at 3 years old.

BC Curriculum
- In Kindergarten/grade 1 the big idea is knowing about our bodies and
making healthy choices helps us look after ourselves. The content areas
are naming parts of the body including private parts, and appropriate and
inappropriate ways of being touched.
- In grade 2/3 the big idea is Adopting healthy personal practices and
safety strategies that protects ourselves and others. The content area is
strategies and skills to use in potentially hazardous, unsafe, or abusive
situations.
- In grade 4/5 the big ideas are Personal choices and social and
environmental factors influence our health and well-being. Understanding
ourselves and the various aspects of health helps us develop a balanced
lifestyle. The content areas are strategies and skills to use in potentially
hazardous, unsafe or abusive situations, including identifying common
lures or tricks used by potential abusers. factors that influence self-
identity, including body image and social media. physical, emotional, and
social changes that occur during puberty, including those involving
sexuality and sexual identity.
- In grade 6/7 the big idea is We experience many changes in our lives that
influence how we see ourselves and others. The content areas are
practices that reduce the risk of contracting sexually transmitted infections
and life-threatening communicable diseases. strategies to protect
themselves and others from potential abuse, exploitation, and harm in a
variety of settings. physical, emotional, and social changes that occur

Sogi
- 60/60 districts in BC are now participants of SOGI
- Offers Pro-D workshops
- Gender identity: ones internal and psychological sense of oneself as a
man, women, both, in-between, neither, or another understanding of
gender
- Gender expression: how one outwardly shows gender (through name,
pronoun, style of dress, hairstyle, ect)
- Gender affirmation: describes actions, behaviours or supports that
validate someone's gender identity

Teachers
- Has lesson plans for grades 4-12
- includes quizzes, activities, interactive tools, slides, ect
- Covers topics like bullying, consent, puberty, healthy eating, diversity,
gender identity & expression, Sexual orientation and use of technology
and media.
- Includes how to respond to a sexual assault disclosure.
- Has some suggestions for ground rules to go over with your class before
starting some of these topics.
