1 INTRODUCTION

Vegetables are important components of our diet because they support the correct

functioning of the many bodily systems. It is low in fat and calories and a good source of dietary

fibre (Andoy & Tapitan, 2015). According to House (2005)'s research, there are six types of

vegetables: fruit vegetables, stem vegetables, root and bulb vegetables, seeds and pods

vegetables, flower vegetables, and leafy vegetables.

Polvoron is one of the famous, affordable delicacies in the Philippines. Based from the

study Cioson et.al (2017) Polvoron from the polvoron dust, made of flour, sugar, milk and nuts

mixed with almonds. It is available in different flavors and can be bought from markets or even

from sari-sari stores. Polvoron, with fruits and vegetable being the major raw material, has good

market potential because it is assured to be affordable and nutritious.

because they support the normal functioning of the many body systems. They are low in fat and

calories, and a good source of dietary fiber. Vegetables are used as primary ingredients in the

preparation of sweets. Desserts are typically a sweet course or dish (such as pastry or ice cream)

offered at the end of a meal (Merriam Webster, 1828). According to Firkser (2016)'s blog, there

are several desserts that are high in veggies. People on her site want to sneak vegetables into

their desserts so that they can have a favorite organic dessert. Another study endorsed vegetable

desserts. One of these is Buxton (2016)'s article, and according to her, veggies in desserts are a

delightful thing, and it opens up a new option to receive those daily servings of hidden veggie

desserts.
