stress in flexure is 66 ksi with a shaft weight of 10 lb/ft. Note: All dimensions are in ft.

For each section illustrated, find the second moment of area and the location of the
neutral axis from the top and bottom surfaces. Suppose a negative bending moment of
30 kip. in is applied, find the resulting stresses at the top, bottom surfaces and at every
abrupt change in the cross- section. Note: All dimensions are in inches.
